Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

It's not just transferring back East, transferring is a national problem due to national pools. And it's not just CSC but a public service problem. I understand they want to open up the positions to try and attract the best applicants but they forget that most people, especially 21 - 25 year olds h...

Just to be clear, I have nothing against PWs and I don't want people to think that I do. It just means different things in the system. That is all.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hello Ladies and Gents, I heard that it is easier to become a PO after a few years of CX work. The Government likes to hire within but sometimes they hire off the street. Cheers Sevryn You're correct about the government doing internal for PO positions, but you don't need a few years in. My wife wa...

Re: Drop-leg/thigh holster for Browning Hi-Power

All things being equal then yes the end result of action is faster than reaction. But things are rarely equal. So you can't win after a sucker punch? Keep training to be second place then. *shrug* say whatever you want. A properly executed sucker punch intending to knock you out will do just that. ...

Re: Drop-leg/thigh holster for Browning Hi-Power

Only if the shooter with the lighter/shorter trigger shot first. Action vs Reaction it's science... no Hollywood bull, action beats reaction... The average reaction time is 1/4 second. A few small advantages can make up that difference easily. We can internet debate this to death, but the fact and ...

Re: Drop-leg/thigh holster for Browning Hi-Power

@medtech.... That's negative thinking. You need to have a winning mindset no matter what. Uh, no that's not. It's called science driven training. Knowing that Action will always be quicker then REACTION, we train to be more aware of our surroundings and the threat ques/pre-assault indicators that t...

Re: Drop-leg/thigh holster for Browning Hi-Power

All this talk of trigger pull is great however... Science has already proven action is quicker then reaction. You can have the world's lightest trigger and quickest draw, but if you're going up against someone who made up their mind about attacking you (most of the time for us that's what it is) yo...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I live in Sherwood Park (Edmonton) so I was quite surprised to hear I am going all the way to Kingston for training as I was expecting Saskatoon or Regina. Anyone have any advice in general about Kingston? Also, if we start on Tuesday, Jan. 21st; does that mean Monday, Jan. 20th is our travel day? ...

Re: Drop-leg/thigh holster for Browning Hi-Power

Me, personally ... I would trust my life to that gun (as long as it had reliable magazines.) I would as well... but I will add properly maintained to that requirement. The ones I had experiences with shooting and qualifying on were not well maintained, I fired a privately owned BHP which was proppe...
