Re: Will British Columbia adopt Community Peace Officers?
As previously stated. Bylaw/minicipal law enforcement/ etc ARE already peace officers. Previous court rulings (yes multiple) only serve to solidify that fact. Now specific legislation provincially is a different story. I'm not too familiar with the province of British Columbia, however the Alberta ...

Re: Will British Columbia adopt Community Peace Officers?
I don't see it happening in BC. Alberta is a lot more pro law enforcement than BC. BC appears to keep peace officer powers for either police or provincial government departments(ie. corrections, conservation, cvse). Alberta had a long history of special constables long before the peace officer act w...

I took the Lethbridge College CJ program in its early stages back in 2007. At the time you were unable to complete the entire diploma program online but I believe that has since changed. I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it. It's recognized out west by lots of agencies. You also are ab...

Re: BC Legislature arming their Security personnel.
Special constable appointments are a very rare thing in BC in comparison to places like Ontario or Aberta peace officers. Only provincial government agencies seem to be the exception to having s/cst appointments that I have seen(Commercial vehicle enforcement, liquor inspectors, conservation officer...

Re: Police application forms too prying, privacy group says.
The disclosure form says right in the introduction that answering any of the questions is completely VOLUNTARY. If someone has a problem answering any of those questions then why are they applying? There are plenty of other careers or places you can volunteer where they don't ask any personal lifest...

Re: Pants, different coloured stripes, and the meaning of it
The RCMP maintain a yellow stripe because it represents their days as a cavalry/dragoon regiment. Also the reason that security at West Edmonton Mall maintain a yellow stripe on their pants. made me spit out my coffee onto the keyboard It's different for every province. Muni members in BC can have ...

I got a 870 Black Ops Spec II which is a blackhawk pistol grip stock. I somewhat prefer a regular stock to the pistol grip, but love the looks of the Houge stock.

I would like to see this happen(even though it probably won't). Make the two agencies into one public agency so the company has no influence.

Re: Beep test
There are some benefits from practicing the beep test. Getting a good grasp about how to pace yourself at each stage so your not tiring yourself out to quickly. There is also a bit of a technique to doing the pivot turns at the end of each side that can save you some time and energy. But yes practic...
