Re: RCMP Depot Band

EDIT: I appear to have found the answer finding Cached pages from old forums. My understanding is when I get there they will ask for volunteers if they need them and I either stick my hand up, get drafted, or don't have to if other people decide to take our troops spots. Feel free to post a correct...

Re: test

One problem with using the full width of a large monitor is that readability takes a major hit once you get over a certain line length. The optimal width - depending on typeface, text size, colour, print vs screen, etc - is somewhere around 50 to 75 characters. On my widescreen desktop, forum posts ...

Re: Drones / UAVs

Regular Guy: "F" Division was one of the first in the RCMP to use UAVs in a policing role. Two and a half years ago they used one to locate a missing person who had been injured in a rollover. The person was disoriented and wandered into the woods. A cell phone ping gave them an approximat...

We have a 1980 Fury on base. I can take a photo of the dash if you think set up is similar.

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Forums been quite for a bit. Heard some news that FTU at depot is trying out Sig Sauers, and that new troops are piloting the new course of fire....any truth to the matter? Like any good rumour, there is always a grain of truth. Some specialized units use SIG Sauers, but not cadets or general duty ...

Yes. They are public servants and wear the uniform. I think the same is true of air services.

Is there a Transport section within the force?

I know you found your answer, but we have a transport section at Depot. Among other duties, they bus cadets out to the track and range.

Re: Quitting after grad

Newly engaged members who resign from the RCMP before the completion of their probationary period (two years), must pay back the Cadet Recruitment Allowance ($12,000). Returning to the RCMP after a resignations is handled on a case by case basis depending on length of service, how much time had elap...

Re: Training at depot

Is the defensive tactics gym available outside of class hours if cadets wanted to grapple(bjj)? Yes, the PDT gym, like the other fitness facilities, is available until curfew. Is chalk allowed in the weight room? I think I have seen pictures of it, doesn't appear to be too big. No, chalk is not all...

Re: Training at depot

Exactly what VanSmack said. The PDT gym has plenty of heavy bags. Cadets can bring their own wrap-style gloves and you can use whatever you want after hours. The supplied gloves are all sanitized regularly. There's no heavy bag in the weight room. As for trail running, all the running paths in the c...

dhynders wrote:My question is not about wings, but about a military commanders commendation and a CDS commendation. Are these allowed to be placed on an RCMP uniform.

The RCMP uses the Canadian Honours Chart: http://www.cmp-cpm.forces.gc.ca/dhr-ddh ... ex-eng.asp

The CDS Commendation and Command Commendation are both listed.

They've actually been around since May. Check your local toy stores; I know London Drugs and Toys R Us had them. They are also in the Sears catalogue.

Re: Troop 17-RCMP 1992

Confused! If you do not run the cooper run in 10:45 are you sent packing? Is the cooper run age adjusted as Wikipedia says, or does a 46 year old recruit need to run it the same time as a twenty year old recruit? The only "do or die" hard benchmark in Fitness is the PARE. If you cannot ma...
