Re: New Private Investigators and Security Guards Act

If the canister is designed to be for a person, then it is prohibited. Size has no implication with it. 88. (1) Every person commits an offence who carries or possesses a weapon, an imitation of a weapon, a prohibited device or any ammunition or prohibited ammunition for a purpose dangerous to the ...

Re: New Private Investigators and Security Guards Act

I'm not familiar with the Ontario regulations old or new. That being said, dog repellent isn't illegal under the Criminal Code in and of itself. Neither is bear spray. What was prohibited was those tiny little key chain spray canisters that everyone was using for robberies and fist fights down at th...

Re: New to collecting

Hey guys, I am a current EPS member and VERY new to patch collecting. I have very little to trade with I tried collecting a few years ago and found it nothing but expensive. I've grown away from it (with the help of my wife's complaining). If you want what I have they're yours. All are Canadian; mo...

Re: GENERAL RCMP APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Are the K9 units trained at Depot? Or is there a specific location for the k9 units? Also, I understand the VPD has their dogs trained with bob eden, is it the same for rcmp? I know he's a popular guy to train dogs. I am sure Bob would appreciate it if you capitalized his name. News to me if Bob is...

Re: Police Shouldn't Be Scared of Non-American Cruisers

I read rumor that there would be a 2010 Ford Taurus AWD police package. I have no idea if this is accurate and can't for the life on me remember where I saw it. I tried Googling it just now and got nothing. I remember them saying that Ford is also considering a return of the SHO Taurus. From what I...

Re: Need info on "Private or Contract" Bailiffs in Ontario

And Brinks guards... I was in the drive through at Timmies yesterday and a Brinks guy walked out with his lunch and a honking big NYPD-style badge on his gunbelt in front of his .38 special. That's unfortunate - it wouldn't have been issued by the company, just something the guy had made up. It ref...

Re: Need info on "Private or Contract" Bailiffs in Ontario

Not familliar with the law in Ontario but in BC they are sworn peace officers. They are appointed by the court and do carry a provincial badge and provincial id and are issued provincial shoulder flashes (though you rarely see them worn) though they work for private bailiff companies. This however i...

Re: GENERAL RCMP APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

So, for any RCMP applicants out there, I have a really good book which I am reading and whether you find it interesting or not is up to you. Mountie Makers by Robert Gordon Teather is a great book. Follows Cpl. Teather's experience through Depot. I would definitely suggest it. Cheers. CB There are ...
