Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

No one is saying it is a rule. I AM saying that it is proper etiquette. Just like common courtesy when you are in public. It is not stated anywhere that you HAVE to be courteous to one another. It is implied. The same concept applies on-line. Look where we are. This is not some 5th grade rant forum....

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Just because this is a public forum, that does not mean that bad English, bad grammar is excusable. That's like saying just because you are in public, you don't need to adhere to proper manners or social etiquette. Writing properly serves two purposes. First it shows the level of English and trainin...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I'm assuming that SS took an approx. stab at the number so just giving a bit more detail on that. When we went through back in '08, there were 3 classes of 18 each. That was a total of 54 people per 'intake' (I'm using the 'intake' for each group but it is possible an 'intake' consisted of a few gro...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Same thing with us. One of my classmates broke her finger during CDT near the end of the program so I just drove her to the closest hospital in Ontario (right past the Quebec border). Dont remember the name of the place but it wasnt a long drive. OHIP ftw Had a classmate with a non emergency hospita...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Things have changed over the past couple of years. My group was one of the last few to go through to Rigaud without having the secret clearance PRIOR to attending Rigaud. It was changed for the groups following us. From my understanding, they do not do the secret clearance checks until after they kn...

Re: Failure rates increase in new Citizenship Testing

So much anger directed at immigrants???!!!??? Keep in mind that for a country to continue to thrive, it needs a positive ratio when it comes to those coming in versus those going out. Since our birth rate is only slightly higher than our death rate, we need to keep the population in the plus, there...

Re: Failure rates increase in new Citizenship Testing

Canada will grow some balls probably around the same time the Conservatives get a Majority government. Couldn't agree more! However, if the Libtards get back in, you know one of the first things on the list will be do return the test to it's old version. With you guys on that. When I took the test ...

Re: Group 4

2 simple words.....they suck. ADT/Intercon is a decent company (I worked for ADT when it was just ADT)....but they probably pay more than average, have better training and don't seem to push the envelope. Intelligarde....aka Intelligoon isn't well thought of and overall a huge joke. What she said! ...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Things will slowly get better over time. 2009 was probably the worst because the recession was in full swing. We definitely need more more officers in the GTA, but so do so many other regions. Time will tell but I think things may be a bit more optimistic in the 2011 - 2012 fiscal year. Now keep in ...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Dear Columbo You truly are a clueless moron. FYI I am Inland Enforcement Officer at GTEC and I am armed and have already completed all the pre-requirements. However, I have also witnessed a few very talented colleagues to be found unsuitable. I have found flaws with the process such as the one ment...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

What is current wage for a CBSA officer? How often are you able to work overtime? Pearson...never under any circumstances. I got some. The only way I get any is if I happen to do an enforcement action towards the end of my shift. That too, you'll constantly get the 'are you done yet?' over your sho...

Anyone know when the cat3 testing started? I was never invited to it, but in May 2009, I was told: " You will be placed in a partially assessment pool of candidates pending “Secret” clearance and awaiting a seat for the Port of Entry Recruit Training at the Canada Border Services Agency Learni...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Just out of curiosity, are there any GTA candidates on here who've been in the pool prior to 07'/08'? Just wondering how many people may be ahead of me for this rumored Jan Rigaud intake. me. been in the pool since..way back when. Oh man!.... Thats rough..... On another note, ATTN all GTA candidate...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

as for breaks...customs, corrections etc..will get a break everytime..i like people to show me their badge so i can give them a courtesy...we are all on the same side. Don't forget about our friends in the military. Although, there are limits. I completely agree with you guys. When I see a badge, t...
