Re: Streamlight Stinger LED DS switch problems

Some of our staff have the Streamlights and have had the same problems you describe. I have decided that one is much better off to carry the smaller Surefire or Fenix lights, which have proven to be far more reliable. (I have some of each)

Re: Change in CBSA course of fire?

The biggest change that is rumoured deals with the distance at which stage 1 is shot. I was over to APA for two days this week- that is where I got my info

Change in CBSA course of fire?

I heard a rumour that CBSA was considering making changes to their course of fire (The one used by the RCMP) Does anyone know if this is the case? If so, what changes are going to made and why? My reason for asking is that we are making changes to ours as well. Thanks.

Re: What do you guys use to track your running distance/ speed?

I use a Garmin Forerunner. It does all you want it to do. I really like it. There are several different models available. Mine is older and a little bulky for everyday wear (It's a 205) but the newer (and more expensive) ones are the size of a large wrist watch. I have it set to show my average pace...

Re: ERT/Dog handler Fitness Test

I don't know about the ERT PARE but can tell you that the dog handler PARE is 9 minutes long rather than the 4 minutes for the regular PARE.

My friend wicked_police is (again) entirely correct. I encourage out staff to practice dry firing with the "wall drill". It helps to develop proper sight picture and a consistent trigger pull. Here is a link for the explanation: m I agree with the "wall drill" except for two thi...

Re: Missing Index finger?

One of our officers is missing the index finger on his gun hand so uses his middle finger. He can shoot like stink, doing better than many of our officers with all of their digits.

Re: Simunition...What should I expect.

We often use our old body armor for protection. I also wear some sort of thick loose fitting clothing on my arms and legs (coveralls), a cup as mentioned before, as well as a pair of gloves. It is very painful to be shot in the hands. If a neck guard is available to use with the mask put that on too.

I recently put a set of crimson trace grips on my P226. I'm not sure what to think of them.
