Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Was anyone asked to re-write the psych test in lieu of meeting with a psychologist? Been in medical clearance since May. Just a little concerned about being deferred when I provide the same answers again on Monday morning. Ha! Welcome to the club. Myself and a lot of guys had to rewrite. Calm down ...

Re: S&W 5946 Slide Stop

It's a constant piss off I have in my head every day. I used the Sig/Surefire for a while and loved it. I hate this gun and lack of light. I've given guys the gears in the past for using aftermarket holsters so it kills me to be That Guy. I think I've given up anyway for the reason you gave and a PM...

S&W 5946 Slide Stop

Does anyone have an extended (used to mount a surefire classic light) S&W 5946 slide stop pin they are willing to part with or know where I can find one?
Please PM me if you have access to one.
Thanks

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

What needs to happen is the RCMP grows some balls. Remove the person's name, gender, age and physical make up. Rank them based on scores and interviews when start putting them into Depot from the top of the list down. No one likes to talk down on political correctness, but it's the damn truth. You m...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hello all, great topic. I’m not in RCMP recruiting, but working in a similar recruiting system has given me a chance to see what kind of an impression the suit/no suit thing made on me. I would like to share my favourite quote from the VPD senior recruiting Sgt when I went to one of their Presentat...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Staffing told me that lots of NCO jobs in Ontario/Ottawa are being removed to save money, thus we need to find a new posting for them. Almost all of them are Cpl to S/Sgt, very few Csts. I don't think the shift in these people out west will affect applicants (in my general duty paper pusher opinion)...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Does every cadet have to have a job? What other jobs are there? They'll tell you when you get there. You don't always get what you want. Some jobs never change but some seem to get added while others get taken away. Driving PDT Food PT Firearms Right Marker 2i/c Right Marker Dress Grad Half Way Par...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Reg dinner organizer-guy is THE best job. It lasts one single evening and easy to plan. Being the driver guy can be a pain if your troopmates are lazy sacks and don't wash the cars. Then the nco ic of the driving unit will come after you and your right marker. True story. We had a girl hit a curb, ...

Driving liason was good too. Make a schedule for who drives the practice car outside of regular hours and you're done.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

In myh troop, we had a guy as young as 19 and two old guys in their mid 40s and early 50s. The mid 40s guy was and still is great. The early 50s guy couldn't handle it. He quit after a year. He never could handle depot and even in a slow eastern post he had trouble. My first posting was a busy place...

Re: hanwag boots

I don't know if they are a similar build, but my miendles (sp?) are horrible for driving and regular GD work. I got them 4 or 5 years ago for a section. They are for sure broken in from all the off road use, but once I was back on GD I hated them. I have some original swat boots (tactical model I th...
