Re: Hearing Test - Not Meeting Minimum Standards (OACP)

. What is somewhat crap is this. Police ( at least those I know of) will say your vision or hearing is a bit off, correcting with just glasses or hearing aids is not acceptable to be hired. Yet if you pass those tests and five minutes after you get your badge your vision drops below the hiring leve...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Should put 10 troops in total on Depot at any given time. That's still not very busy to only have 10 Troops on base. It’s not that far off to what’s currently on base as it is. Currently running at roughly 1/2 what was on base prior to full shutdown. Any move to start using those trailers would req...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

found this very nice document, looks informative for future cadets : https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/depot/publications/family-guide-pour-la-famile/index-eng.htm "The Cadet Training Program (CTP) consists of 785 hours and is broken down into seven disciplines or units. It involves a combination of class...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Exciting, do you know if the new troops will be in the same situation housing wise like you are currently or are they going back to the way things were or covid. I'm hearing Depot Noise that they will start to use the trailers in addition to D Block and CTF to house more cadets. Should put 10 troop...

so I’m here to ask for some advice.
Or instead of asking the a public forum comprised almost entirely of anonymous users who are wholly unqualified to give you any sort of an informed answer, perhaps you could send a message or make a phone call to an actual RCMP recruiter.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hey guys, Haven't posted in a while but wanted to gather my peers opinion as per the applicant "Chit Chat" notion of this forum. I am currently working in an armed law enforcement position just waiting for my shot with the RCMP. When I began my job here I was posted up north. That Office had its po...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Government of Alberta are considering replacing the RCMP with APPS (Provincial Police) https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/d8933f27-5f81-4cbb-97c1-f56b45b09a74/resource/d5836820-d81f-4042-b24e-b04e012f4cde/download/fair-deal-panel-report-to-government-may-2020.pdf Literally the same thing Alberta has b...

Troop 5 starting december 20. Got to be there 2 weeks prior for self isolation as well.
I wonder if you'll get that $525/week for the 2 weeks isolation.
Yeah, good question. I don’t have the info yet. Maybe someone else can answer this one.
You'll get it.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

RCMP can make it even and fair by making the troops contractually obliged to stay with the agency for a period of time upon graduation or to reimburse all hiring expenses if they leave before that. Make it like 25K to reimburse if you leave on your own before 10 years at the force and I guarantee y...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Maybe I’ll be shit on for this. Maybe not. But... if you are at depot and your troopmate is that guy that wants out... how does it effect you personally? Maybe I don’t see the big picture but... I don’t think if effects me at all. If that’s what they want to do. Just be a good troopmate that’s all ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

If RCMP cared, they could have added this question to the Polygraph :) "Are you sincerely ready and willing to accept posting at any location or you plan to leave if the location is not satisfactory ?" ;) Make no mistake, the RCMP DOES care. And the RCMP shouldn’t have to add that question to the p...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

There should be a hefty fine for breaking your word. Like pay us back every penny. Companies do it all the time so should the RCMP. It would definitely deter the shady applicants. They typically will recover any training allowance paid to a cadet if they leave within the first two years of service ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Regardless of any "tough talk", people will options and self esteem would not care, they will do what they feel is best for them. And if you are not aware, RCMP advertises this : " You have the opportunity to identify your preferred province for your first post following graduation and every effort...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

We have people openly saying if they don’t get E Div they will quit and ones that are bragging they are going to apply muni in BC the day after grad and get hired because they have completed depot... honestly drives me insane listening to it. If you’re not willing to go literally anywhere east to w...
