How long after completing all the steps does it normally take to get an email for CTP 2? Been playing the waiting game for a few weeks now, just wondering what other applicant’s experiences have been
I'd also like to know. I've been waiting about a month

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Does anyone know what exactly is CTP 1 ? Is it assignments, lecture, videos etc ? Is there an exam at the end ? How much time do I need to allocate per day ? Does it need to be done in a month or you can just sit and finish it in 1 week ? My ctp1 course took me just over 3 weeks dedicating 2-3 hour...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I've completed the application process as far as I know. Sjt, interviews, references, ctp1, medical, psych test/interview and security clearance questionnaire/ interview. It's been about a month since my last contact with csc. Have any of you followed up with recruiters during an extended wait or ar...

Do people normally get contacted for a security phone interview after submitting their security questionnaire? I submitted mine last month and haven’t heard anything
It took them a month to contact me, a week for my friend. Some people they do not contact at all

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

A good chunk of recruits in my core never fired a gun before. They had zero issues on the firing range. Do not walk in there with the "I know" mentality. My thing was I get into my own head during tests and I screw up. The firearms instruction is excellent. Save your money. Didn't you get booted of...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I even remember the managers running the sjt were encouraging applicants to seeks training ahead of loading on course. More knowledge isn't a bad thing in any way as long as you can shut up and do how they want it done. Are you a CSC trained firearms instructor? Have you ever been on CTP? Have you ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Dk94 please refrain from giving firearms advice to fellow recruits and applicants. Leave that to us. Because If actual firearms instructors give advice as to NOT DO THOSE THINGS. It might be a good indication to actually not do those things. It’s almost like the Instructors on this board kind of kn...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

If you're in BC, silvercore training offers a law enforcement firearm familiarization course designed for people about to go to their respective training areas. Other provinces probably have compatible courses. No license is required and it seems like it would be a good investment for those who hav...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I’ve never heard of that? How does a person get direct entry? I thought everyone follows the same process. What does the acronym ERC stand for? I’m not clear on which questionnaire you are referring to. We only submitted the one with our initial application. By direct entry, I meant not applying to...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I'm almost done the process. I have a phone interview scheduled for my security questionnaire. For me that is good news as I almost expected them to just toss it in the trash. I haven't heard back about my psyc but as I understand it, no news is good news in the process.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I just had my first interview yesterday in Moncton, at which time I gave them my choices, references and screening forms. Just wondering how long it usually takes to hear back on rather you passed the interview or not? Within 5 business days if you failed the interview portion. If you fail the refe...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

My interview is finished and my references contact on Nov12 and they have not contacted me. I emailed them asking what the delay was and that was over a week ago. Is this normal? Am I still in the process or am I out? So frustrating checking email everyday not knowing if anyone could shed light on ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

So I wrapped up the application process today with my psych interview. Completed ctp1, medicals, finger prints and security questionnaire. Now it's in cscs hands to determine if I'm a suitable candidate. One question, is ctp2 only offered to those who have passed all of the steps up to that point? F...
