Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Today has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Phew! Troop 12! Congrats, see ya at depot. Thanks. Looking forward to it! Are you packed yet?! January 25th is starting to look awfully close. Also, don't give up on your dreams kids. Only took me 7 years to get that call! :twitch: About 90% packed, gotta ge...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
I shoot and collect, I like to run different handguns for periods of time, get proficient with each. Obviously if Im shooting comp (IPSC) I won't be running the RCMP SW, compared to as if your actually training for the job. I get if your limited on time and ammo you'd stick to one platform, but if ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
It would make about as much sense as buying a C6 Corvette with an automatic transmission because you want it to help you get ready for your DZ/airbrake driving test two weeks from now... I mean I know the P226 isn't comparable to a SW but I need an excuse to buy it lol. [/quote] Why spend money on ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
If you’re someone who’s been shooting for years, your only real advantages are that you’re (hopefully) accustomed to practicing good muzzle control and the other safety stuff Dave talked about, and are at least somewhat used to the sounds of gunshots around you. Until you’ve had our pistol in your ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
If you are the type who plays Call of Duty; signs up for multi-day "combat" pistol courses and "combat" rifle courses; knows five ways to hold a flashlight and ten different ways to reload an AR; and can teach the instructors a thing or two about shooting ... well, my only advice would be to not le...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
I'm still in the security clearance stage, but I recently got a job at Service Canada. It was only a week ago. Should I inform my Recruiting Analyst to be transparent? I don't know if that will impact my clearance since both organizations are federal government entities. I also have to get a higher...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
thank you so much for that information. it is exciting but with COVID restrictions and delays it's becoming more of anxiousness than excitement. :( Oh I feel you. I already have my date (troop 3) and I still have this sinking sensation in the pit of my stomach that it's gonna get delayed. I hope no...
