Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Just a quick question regarding applications I haven’t found any job postings online however my girlfriend received a Hand out stating they were looking for people, I also saw an add online. I’ve been attempting to figure out if there are certain application dates which they open up or is it only w...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Got rejection mail today as well. And not sure about pandemic being a factor. Pretty disappointed though. My only advice to anyone getting rejected is don’t give up. Hundreds of people apply for a couple of spots in training and positions. Make yourself more competitive. I took 3 years to make myse...

@Gmc5000 - Feb end.
They were just finishing up interviews at my office. So I wouldn’t think of it as being the end of your application process. They need to look through everyone first.

Hello everyone, I had my interview late February and still no reply for the June 22nd class. I emailed them asking about this matter, they told me they are doing interviews across the province and I should expect a reply by end of March early April. How fast did you guys get a call? Im sitting here...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

There has already been extensive work from both sides regarding it It would be strange to spend this much time working on this if someone higher up didn't give an indication of approval. But who knows. It looks good so far. I believe this is the first time we have voted on such a measure. Things ar...

I heard a rumor about a 40 week work week being approved. I've read it before on here so a little skeptical. Any comments?
Not approved but voted yes to. And the business case is the amount they spend in overtime they can spend on an extra hour everyday.

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Hi guys, I have been looking into the Sheriff Department and will apply once I get my Class 4 Licence. I have been deferred by municipal police agencies due to a lack of policing experience, and just wondering if the Sheriff Department looks at policing experience just as heavily like municipal pol...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Can anyone comment on the advancement within the sheriffs? What does it take to get to Sergeant? Staff Sergeant? Is it all in house training or are degrees/diplomas required. Also, any idea what the salary grids are for those positions? Thanks Get through SRT first. That takes years and years. Wage...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Did the CVSA yesterday. It’s all up to the PSSO now. And so the long and arduous wait begins. If nothing else, the whole process has been insightful. There’s still a medical to get through but that won’t be an issue for me, as I’ve completed a similar medical last year. And I’m posting this for all...
