Re: Ask the CBSA!

There was a National call for BSOs to take an assignment to Yellowknife not too long ago and I've seen other calls for assignments to northern ports over the years. I know officers who have taken short term assignments to the north, mostly BC. They loved it but had commitments that would make a more...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

The psych interview is not a "test". It's not something you prepare for. It is an interview to discuss the results of the testing. Anyone who attempts to give you advice about it is doing you a disservice because their test results will not be the same as yours. Any "advice" will more than likely ju...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Back in the day, the CIT was an all day test. Portions of the morning testing consisted of providing information that you had a specific amount of time to study and would be tested on in the afternoon. It was common knowledge that a time management strategy was crucial in order to do well on the tes...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

My hunch is that the TB is considering giving us a 25yr retirement plan with no penalty but only want those in uniform to qualify. Which I support. You can't be a desk jockey and expect a 25 and out when all you've done is hit a computer for most of your career. This has been my opinion since they ...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Yup, those boots are on the list available to us and a lot of BSOs wear them.

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Plenty of good choices in SOR too and I would assume all regions. What's the allotment now? $250? And a new pair every year? The only thing I've spent my own money on is a good flashlight but that's a whole other issue.

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I don't know a single BSO that has paid for their boots. Not since the Agency started paying for them.

Re: test

I've looked at some other forums that I frequent and that does seem to be the norm. Maybe I just need to get used to the new format. I do like the look!

Re: test

I like the look but agree with the scaling issue. I realize the world is moving to tiny handheld screens but I use a a laptop and am constantly frustrated by this but I do realize that I'm probably in the quickly shrinking minority.

Good job though!

Amen brothers, and/or sisters.

The process is nothing compared to the reality on the job. If the process is tripping you up, just give up now.

Re: RCMP pot policy

This entire exercise has been every bit the shit-show I envisioned it would be and a distraction from far more important things. I think that was the plan all along.

Re: Blue Line Not Secure

My address bar does not indicate secure. I've had no issues logging in or staying logged in. Using updated Firefox browser on a Win10 laptop. "Log me on automatically each visit" is checked.

Re: Ask the CBSA!

My refuge was the hills up behind the college. That was a long time ago so I hope things are the same. It was really beautiful back there in the woods and some really nice trails to walk or run. I tried to get back there often for some peace. Another tip is to bring lots of books, fiction that takes...

If you're going to post an "I told you so" I think it's fair to ask for the quote. That's all I was saying.
