Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

How are you keeping your fitness up (cardio AND strength) with all of this crap going on? Since all the gyms are closed, most of us don't have home gyms and there is almost no basic equipment available to buy for home (I'm talking 2 pairs of useful dumbbells (35s and 45s minimum) and one collapsible...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Thankfully HR has reached out to me so there is still some hope ! :) Did they provide any update? Just said that because my PARE test was originally due in March (to be considered for summer/spring intake) it has been extended until May since most places holding the tests are closing. Did they at l...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Many banks are offering a freeze on mortgage payments. Hopefully the recruits and many of us can make some use of that offer. I’m currently in aviation and it’s not looking good for any of us. This is something the entire world is going through and hopefully it will come to an end soon until then s...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

It’s tough.....no income if being sent home until further notice? I truly feel for those students who are without income and have to go home until this passes. Very unfortunate circumstances and I hope you all make it back to resume training. Here's hoping everyone there now is fiscally able ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Just contacted him, it’s true. They’re all being sent home tomorrow. It was expected and makes sense. This will last at least 2 months,..., if we are lucky ..., but as always - chill out, the otherwise healthy people will get through it just fine. Pretty shitty if they don't at least continue to re...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

As i have friends and family that currently work for Health Canada (although this is just an assumption here) i believe everything will be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we might consider ourselves overall healthy in general, it is a HUGE risk for the entire college to take that on ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Know what sucks with this whole Corona thing? I’m limited to 50lb dumbbells at home. So doing more slower movements and pauses. Know what’s a blessing? It’s getting my ass outside to train with jogging finally 😂 What are some of you up to for alternatives for training? My gym is still open; attendi...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

can BSO's become investigators in CID? If so how long doe that typically take before they're eligible? BSOs are the "feeder pool" for positions in the Intelligence and Enforcement (I&E) Branch. I&E Branch is made up of CID Investigators, Inland Enforcement Officers, Hearings Officers, Intelligence ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

If you think in numbers, how many hundreds of Interviews CBSA does for people that fail their Psych exams ? That's lots of $$$/hours wasted for the agency. Having in mind the large % fails at Psych, I would say CBSA wastes a lot of time and $ on Interviewing people that never make it. So therefore ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

... Good thing you aren't HR because no way in hell would I apply if that was the deal. It's almost as dumb as the ATS most Ontario polices services have. If you think in numbers, how many hundreds of Interviews CBSA does for people that fail their Psych exams ? That's lots of $$$/hours wasted for ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Is recruitment always this much of a joke? CBSA is not for you. Move on and save yourself and them a lot of time. Someone else would be GLAD to have your spot and would WELCOME a chance find a way to drive 1 1/2 hours to an interview. It's called initiative, and you don't have it. Bottom line. This...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

The process I applied to is different. It was confirmed at interview that those in my process would know their potential POE before starting the formation in Rigaud. They also did a small communities process before, which was quite specific on the POE that would need to be filled. I don't know how ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi guys, I need advice. My CRFSC and CFSC will end tomorrow. CBSA has given me till April 3 to provide proof of completion. RCMP takes 4 to 6 weeks to mail a stamped copywhich means I may not have a copy of my results by then. What kind of confirmation will be acceptable so I don't miss the deadlin...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Sometimes people just need to tell it like it is. What a difference from when I went through just 10 short years ago with another Federal agency... so many sacrifices and noone said boo. We didnt even get an allowance while away for training. The entitlement is strong these days. If you want it. Yo...
