Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

I agree. Unless the person has done one of those "quickie" courses, where they give you your pass mark for both courses after three hours in some guys kitchen, just giving you the answers to mark down on the test sheet. CBC did a hidden camera investigation of exactly that. Some instructo...

Yeah, the 320 is advertising for $500 retail right now, which is a more reasonable price than a 226.

Re: From the Book of Dave Brown

Now that the rcmp is switching to vertical vehicle racks a shorter barrel length is needed, imo, for easier deployment. As well, a magazine tube extension wasn't possible with the horizontal rack, but could be now, along with an attached light.

Re: Former Paramedic pursuing new career

Hello everyone and thank you in advance. Long time reader and first time poster. I am looking for some insight/advice, here is a quick backstory... I have always been interested in emergency services and the type of work that we hope to do and perform. I recently have relocated to Southern Ontario ...

So just to confirm, Pete's priced right and he goes bang every time?

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Right now the only thing the mounties have to look forward to is a new holster. So, I would guess that if they have decided to buy holsters, we can look forward to our boat anchors for another 10 years at least! Too many people in charge who remember the march west.....................................

Re: BC RCMP Accelerated Recruiting 2013 - Women only.

I don't believe for a minute that height is an issue with the pare's push pull, I really don't. The fittest guy in my troop was shorter than all of the ladies and he could basically make a straight diagonal line with his body from the floor to the handles and dance around the thing. He had the faste...

Re: From the Book of Dave Brown

Dave - I had to buy a chinese 12.5" barrel when the dlask one I previously tried had fail to fires on my receiver (weird I know). My barrel currently only has a bead with no pedestal. Is there a XS big dot available that comes with a pedestal of sufficient height for a short barrel or would I j...

Re: Guns, an investment.

I like the advance notice approach...tell her months in advance what you are going to buy, then, when the time comes its no surprise. Then you've already "talked" about it. Teaching the firearms safety course and other courses helps too. Some day I gotta get that mosin disabled so I can pu...

Re: S&W 500 mag

I went shooting yesterday, and a member of my club let me shoot his 500 mag revolver. All I could ask myself afterwards is what use is that thing other than to intimidate the crap out of a burglar that breaks into your house at night? Holy hell does that thing buck! For hunting. In jurisdictions wh...

Re: What do you carry?

An agency with a mix of uniform and plainclothes responsibility might choose a sig 229 or glock 19, for example, as a general issue gun, whereas a uniform-only agency might decide on the full-size version (226, g17) to maximize capacity since concealabilty is not a concern. Sorry. If the guns were ...

Re: What do you carry?

So the HK pistol would not serve CBSA as it does with CSC, Parks and whoever else carries it? Didn't most agencies across Canada carry S&W model 10's at one point? (I know many carried Colt's, Webley's before that but eventually most switched to the model 10 for a number of reasons one being S&...
