Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I had to do everything but the written again. It was worth the effort. SO you made it all the way to stage 8 and still got deferred??, is that a common situation? I thought you were more likely to get deferred on early stages... You can be deferred at any stage for any reason. You can be kicked out...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Kind a random question here for those in the know. How does the RCMP Air Service work? Do you have to be a pilot and then go to Depot? Do you even go to Depot or do you work as a Civilian Member? Or does the RCMP provide training to become a pilot? The web page mentions it but doesn't go into a gre...

Re: Toronto Police Service

On their Twitter on Aug 24th they twitted “Applications that have already been submitted will continue to be processed”. To busy spending money on cameras when the real problem is officers are needed on the street. They're at the mercy of being defunded now lol. I notice Canadian police services do...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Do the final stages move as quickly as the CAF where you swear in and are on a bus two weeks later? That was so exciting when I was 18 but now that I actually worry about forwarding mail, getting everything cleaned and organized to go in storage and if I should take the car out west or not, there's...

Is polygraph or CVSA a part of the hiring process for CSC? and when you are asked to take them, will there be a centre for each province or do I have to another province to take them?

Troop 5 starting december 20. Got to be there 2 weeks prior for self isolation as well.
I wonder if you'll get that $525/week for the 2 weeks isolation.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

... This is an interesting topic. To knowingly lie about your intentions before you get accepted is sickening. There should be a hefty fine for breaking your word. Like pay us back every penny. Companies do it all the time so should the RCMP. It would definitely deter the shady applicants. If RCMP ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

We lost 5 in the first 4 weeks. 1 serious knee injury, 1 possible injury or homesick, 1 homesick, 1 to a heavy language barrier (supposed to return on French troop), and 1 left voluntarily after being a hazard with a firearm. 1 didn’t return post Covid for unknown reasons and another left last week...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Does anyone know what kind of written exams are there for Corrections Canada? I heard about TOJ and stuff but if anyone knows what other exams are there and how you prepared for them could share there experience, it would be greatly appreciated. English exam (grammar, spelling, sentence struc...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Good morning, Has anyone had an issue getting into their doctors office to have PARE medical forms signed ? My doctor's office is only doing telephone appointments unless they deem an in-person appointment is necessary. They've told me that signing forms does not fall under a necessary appointment....

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Couple general interest questions here; How are constables generally selected for very desirable locations such as national parks (Banff, Jasper etc)? Do members ever make the jump from RCMP to another pursuit such as National Park Warden? I'd imagine some of the experience is transferrable. Thanks...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I was going through RCMP's website and it says that next troop is expected to start in January 2021. I guess It will be same for CBSA as well or no? Or CBSA is still training candidates slowly but continuously? https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/accelerated-training-program The RCMP trains troops year r...
