Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

More questions about the Pare, especially the Ottawa Police Fit. Do you usually get a trial run before you do the course? Do they give you more than 1 attempt? This is my first time so my apologies for the questions. You generally have to pay for a practice run, but if you have the money to spend, ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Probably because you won't start regaud until 1 year... they planned in advance. Covid put a wrench in everything! You were probably suppose to be in a summer in take just like me....hang in there! Keep your fingers crossed that weโ€™re there in January :D I would loooove to begin in January ! Januar...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

No. You don't even need to pass the PARE test when you get to Rigaud. I feel like this is inaccurate information.. You need to have a valid, passing PARE time prior to going to Rigaud. As far as whether a PARE Testing facility sends a failed result, that's probably case by case. But I'm fairly cert...

I have been playing tons of tennis this summer. ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿ˜€ For us that have been in the selection process for a while now and had to do the written test few months ago. Has anyone tried to email recuritment and ask for a update and got no response. I've emailed them over 2 weeks ago with no answer
I got a reply saying "the pandemic has forced a pause in a number of our examination, assessment and travel sessions ... the next cohort will not be until 2021".

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

The part that's highlighted is very interesting to me and I didn't know that was even an option until now. It's a pretty good alternative for those who want to stay where they are rather than relocate. The only issue is, what are the chances for you to actually go to your preferred location after y...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I was looking over the 'Evaluation of the Officer Induction Model' page on the CBSA website and came across how the 'Port of Entry' selection process was like in the past compared to what it is now. "The original DPP (Duty Placement Process) was merit-based and the order by which Recruits selected ...

Re: Hearing Test - Not Meeting Minimum Standards (OACP)

The result they tell you is based on your performance and not just their opinion. It's possible that on one test, you missed a few sounds on your left ear and on the other test, your right. The only tip really is not to get exposed to too much noise prior to the appointment. I also didn't use any h...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Emailed CBSA the other day and got a reply that pretty much says that I'm OITP ready for the next intake phase and that there won't be any cohort until 2021. Gonna be a bit of a wait. It's to be expected though, lol. Anyways, just trying to keep myself fit and be ready to redo my PARE test. Stay saf...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

For people in the background stage, are you advised at any point after you sent the paperwork off that the process has actually started? I sent my paperwork off in January and have yet to hear back. Is the security interview the marking of the beginning of background or the end? I would think what ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hello everyone, hope everyone is safe and sound. just asking if there any news from Rigaud like when they will resume training again and with how many students and is there any extensions on PARE or other testing? (confirmed by CBSA). Thanks I'm unsure about PARE, but the medical has been extended....

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Officially booked my Security Interview for next week. Gonna be doing over the phone most likely cuz of the Covid-19 situation. Pretty excited to be on the final stage before OITP/Rigaud. Good luck! Hope we will be in training together! We applied about the same time. Hey, I'm new to the...
