Brainscape - Smart Flashcards by Brainscape

Has anyone used the above app to prepare for OITP and Rigaud? It has 1000s of flash cards and I’m wondering how useful and accurate the info is?

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

CBSA Just emailed me and gave me until May 29 to complete my PARE I’m so grateful for the accommodation given the situation right now. 😃 I just got an email also giving me until May 29 for the PARE - now to find someplace that will be open by then for testing. Where do you live? It’s anyones guess ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Many banks are offering a freeze on mortgage payments. Hopefully the recruits and many of us can make some use of that offer. I’m currently in aviation and it’s not looking good for any of us. This is something the entire world is going through and hopefully it will come to an end soon until then st...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Here’s my dilemma...PARE expires in May and CBSA sent me an email last month saying, “As we are inviting for the next intake in early April 2020, in order to be considered for the summer training you will need valid PARE results by April 3, 2020.” I’m booked to re-do my PARE on March 25 but they jus...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

this is a terrible situation to be in currently with the corona virus scare. Hopefully this will all be under control in the next 15 days after things go back to normal. But I'm hoping this doesn't affect the upcoming summer intake. We may not see the full affect of this crisis for some time! This ...

... Imagine how it would work if everyone just quit when they didn't get Pearson.
I believe most applicants will agree with me that assigning the POE at invite time will be a huge improvement of the current random process.
This is how they did it years ago.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

see here some of the issues the current BSOs are dealing with, like the fact that is very hard to get a transfer, which may eventually also benefit us, the new recruits, if CBSA decides to improve the POE assignment process to match prefered regions. That way they will not increase the scope of the...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

What is everyone's delay between the integrity interview and final security clearance decision? ... 2 days for me. Same for me. I would also recommend checking in with them regularly. I was surprised that I hadn’t heard anything in the new year so I sent an email asking if they required any further...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I graduated on May 17th and my first shift was on June 3rd. 2 weeks between both! You have a very fast timeline! Was your first post close to your home or your first choice? It took me 23 months from the online application to getting into Rigaud! As for my POE, I got really lucky! Got the one that ...

For those who have re-done the medical - does that include the hearing test, or just the doctor-signed forms?
They had me redo my hearing test as well
Thanks. Least of my concerns- but do you remember where we had to send the invoices for recompensation?
I sent mine to Health Canada.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Here’s what I received this morning from CBSA: ....”we confirm you hold a valid secret clearance. Your medical assessment is the last requirement we need before we send you the invitation for Rigaud. We cannot say how long the wait will be, once we will have set a date for the training in Rigaud, w...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hey friends, I received an email stating that I passed my security clearance back in January (yippeeeee) however my PARE is expired and I wasn't able to get it completed in the time they wanted. (I had two weeks and it just wasn't doable from my area). They told me my PARE has to be completed for t...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

How do you know that initiative does not factor into the decision-making, how do you know...? your logic for not doing the PARE asap is based on failing another step of the process, so it's only irrelevant in the context you've presented. Unless you are aware of the criteria, the decision-making pr...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

how do you know what they're looking at? how do you know that initiative is not part of the equation? You can pass the PARE in 1:30m and if you fail the interview or psyche, you fail the process. So not only is initiative of doing the test irrelevant, so is the time. The only requirement is pass or...
