Re: Gloves

Don't put too much stock in a gloves cut resistance. I had a pair of hatch gloves a few years back that I took out of service. I thought I'd try cutting them to see how resistant they were. My fillet knife cut one of the fingers off like it was a stick of butter.

Re: Dash cams

Anybody have/use the Garmin Dashcam20? A co-worker has one and it looks great. Very clear on 720 (to maximize card storage) but can also shoot 1080. Picks up anything that headlights illuminate at night very well. I'm thinking of using tax money to buy one. Costco had (out of stock) the best deal go...

Re: Definition of a Tow Truck. A question for the MTO...

When I did my spring CVSA refrsher last year the MTO instructors touched on this. The example they used was exactly as your photo and as Smitty says. Basically if it is a tilt and load and carrying two it is not simply engaged in short distance 'towing' but rather 'transporting' cargo and no longer ...

Re: Ontario Truck & Trailer Inspections > 4500 kgs

I don't have a HTA in front of me but I'm almost certain the double trailer towing restriction only refers to the generic CMV definition, not the 4500+. Meaning that as long as it is a pickup truck (vehicle having a delivery body etc...) then it can tow double trailers.

Went for $31K + change.
Almost as much fun as picking up all the 5.56 is drilling out all of these shells. Which went for $78k

Re: WANTED: Old style Ontario Park Warden patches

Warden; Your pics aren't showing up. Angelfire is blocking them. I'm guessing you are looking for the first gen MNR "bread slice" patch and the gold inner circle? Those gold ones are hard to find. I think I raided an old uniform stash at a park up north to get mine. You do see them occasio...

Re: Crazy OPP...

In the OPP a motorcycle is the equivalent of a cruiser. Meaning if your Detachment is allotted to have say 10 cruisers and you want a bike you can only have 9 cars and the bike. So you have to make the most out of a bike whenever you can.

Re: Custom Maps

I would be interested in what you end up with. It would be nice to have a poster sized image at the hunt camp. Also, maybe someone will correct me but you can't print from google maps-satellite view. It always reverts to the map when I do it.

He does often refer to his "for hire" days. I thought he was just talking about towing. Who knew?

I was about to reply with my experience in deploying OC spray with an aggressive dog then I realized that this post was in the Public Forums. I prefer not to discuss matters of Use of Force in an open setting where any yoohoo with google can come in, read the info and then take it out of it's full c...
