Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Good thing you aren't HR because no way in hell would I apply if that was the deal. It's almost as dumb as the ATS most Ontario polices services have. Sounds worse, who would want to pay their own pysch eval and medical? On top of the other things I’m spending close to $1000 just to see an intervie...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Wow, that's a pretty substantial increase. It's not an issue for myself either, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't appreciate it regardless. With receiving over 20,000 applicants per posting (I think that number is correct?), I just find it hard to believe they would need to make it any more att...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

How about a quote of the day ? "The Officer Allowance at the College and the mobility clause could be limiting the ability of the CBSA to remain competitive and to effectively place Officer Trainees where they are needed. Other organizations, some of which are competing with the CBSA for applicants...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hey everyone, I just received this email today: "As you have successfully passed all the assessment stages within the selection process, you will be sent a formal invitation from the Officer Recruitment Program to participate in the Officer Induction Training Program (OITP) once a date has been sec...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

The own CBSA audit shows that over 30% of the current BSOs are unhappy about process/placement/transfers. Lots of "whiners" work in CBSA, if we look them from your perspective ;) I can almost bet on the fact that most go to CBSA wishing to get their specific POE or region, so the happy ones are not...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

So will there be a spring training camp? I would assume those invites would have been sent already, everything is finished for me, and I am just waiting on the online portion. I got an invite for my online portion roughly a month before the online started, and the online portion started 7 weeks bef...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

As if I just got an interview invite after they previously bounced me from the process? I won't complain but can somebody make this make sense? And as if they give me 8:15 am in Rigaud (I live in Ottawa) when I don't have a car of my own. Does anybody know if I'd be subject to knowing my PoE in adv...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

see here some of the issues the current BSOs are dealing with, like the fact that is very hard to get a transfer, which may eventually also benefit us, the new recruits, if CBSA decides to improve the POE assignment process to match prefered regions. That way they will not increase the scope of the...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Just wonder why some candidates can skip the OTEE directly go for interview? Back in November 13 2018 I received an email from CBSA stating that i met the merit criteria identified for screening with my graduation with a minimum two-year college diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

It always amazes me how some people say PARE is OK to postpone till the end, while CBSA reminds about doing it very early in the process, even with the email about the Interview. I did it early and all steps and progress was fast so far, may have to redo it, but will never see it as a loss anyway. ...
