Re: Ottawa Police Applicants

Any news on an April class? Did background a few months ago and still nothing. Ottawa Police Recruiting just confirmed on their Instagram Info Session that they are not sending any Recruits to OPC for the May Class. September will be the next time they send recruits. Do you recall exactly who said ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

A nice surprise this morning, my SC interview has been scheduled for next week. Waited 22 months For this step and I’m anxiously looking forward to the interview. I have no idea what to expect and I can imagine this is part of the process, if you’ve done the SC interview and have some pointers rega...

Still no calls being made? I was hoping to hear by now so I'm getting a bit nervous. Not sure when the next course starts but I heard January.
OPC date has been set to Jan 13th.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Now that the medical and psych are done, it's back to waiting here in Ontario. I feel much better about the wait in between steps than a year ago, I think Covid has really put patience in perspective. Is the general rule of thumb with the psych and medical that no news is good news? It's a toss up....

Re: Ottawa Police Applicants

I just completed my psych interview ... don't know If I did good or bad, we'll see in a few weeks ! Any other person waiting for something ? I felt the same way when I completed mine. You probably did fine! December class is filled and I read an article stating they would be hiring 30 new officers ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I learned that medical/psy stage is the second longest part of the process after SC. How true is this ? Varies from person to person and where you're applying out of. I had my medical a day prior to my psych and got a response within a week whereas some it takes weeks. I applied out of Ottawa and t...

Re: Ottawa Police Applicants

Can't really expand much more in order to preserve the integrity of the assessment. I believe they're vague in order to allow candidates to draw upon personal experiences from a variety of fields.

The only thing I can say is that an incorrect answer is one that you do not provide a rationale for.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Thanks for the advice, I did let my recruiting analyst know and she told me that she will probably contact my supervisor in 3 months to do the security check. I'm not too sure I want to go through the application at this time anymore. I want to be an RCMP, but I hardly know my team leader because e...

Re: Ottawa Police Applicants

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the useful information - it really helps with knowing what to expect. I have my blended interview coming up. I'm wondering if anyone can share a good resource or some tips with respect to that interview. I've been preparing examples from my work/volunteer/school life for...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I'm still in the security clearance stage, but I recently got a job at Service Canada. It was only a week ago. Should I inform my Recruiting Analyst to be transparent? I don't know if that will impact my clearance since both organizations are federal government entities. I also have to get a higher...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Kind a random question here for those in the know. How does the RCMP Air Service work? Do you have to be a pilot and then go to Depot? Do you even go to Depot or do you work as a Civilian Member? Or does the RCMP provide training to become a pilot? The web page mentions it but doesn't go into a gre...
