Re: Post-Secondary Education Options

The following news report reinforces what we have been saying. Choose your post-secondary education wisely. When even the instructors think it's a scam, then you know some of these schools are in it just for the money. Yes, there are good schools out there. They don't promise anyone will get a job; ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hey Blue Line! Have a question for ya. My situation is pretty unique so despite the extensive combing through the archives, I don’t have an answer. I am in the process of joining the OCC as an operator for K Div. I passed my interview and medical so I am now on my security clearance. Years ago I wa...

Re: BCIT - Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity

Unless of course he was being sarcastic.

However I cannot see any applicant with a university degree (hons) and retail experience EVER having such poor people skills as to be sarcastic to a forum mod or admin. So I will just take it as it says.

Re: BCIT - Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity

You are an applicant. Stop wondering about advanced law enforcement courses for working police officers, and concentrate on getting hired FIRST. IF you get hired, spend ten years doing a great job in general patrol; backing up your colleagues; writing good reports and making a difference in your com...

Re: WRPS - Auxiliary

88) Hello everyone, So I've been trying to gather information for the past month or so as I want to apply during the next intake in September(ish). By chance, I ran into one of the Auxiliary Sergeants and picked his brain about his experience with the auxiliary. I asked about the process. It's 2 wri...

Post-Secondary Education Options

One of the most common questions I get asked about is what post-secondary education would help an applicant stand out. The correct answer is "any." Agencies are always looking to hire the best candidates they can find. They want intelligent , mature individuals who can think for themselves . This is...

Re: Winnipeg Police Class #163

Somewhere between 1 and a 1000. Again, you are asking other applicants to violate the confidentiality of the process. How will any agency now feel they can trust you with the secrecy of information for the next 30 years? My apology, for the action. I didn’t know it was against the group policy. If ...

The box magazine-fed police shotgun for the 21st century?

Is there still room for a shotgun in the front seat of patrol cars in North America? This guy seems to think so. I will be very honest. When I first saw pump shotguns with a box magazine hanging from the bottom come trickling in from overseas manufacturers, I thought the whole idea was ridiculous. ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I was going to post a conversation regarding the RCMP officer who got arrested for stabbing someone in an off-duty incident that happened before he got hired as a police officer. I felt pretty strongly about this because it proves that recruiting is flawed in terms of background investigators and t...

Re: Traffic Tickets

That post was from 12 years ago. Your question is not only highly inappropriate, this is not an "ask a cop" forum. You have now asked the same question twice in two different and wholly inappropriate places in this forum, so we suspect that you have nothing of value to contribute. Officers get dumb ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

If applicants can not understand how a public list of user names, ages and home locations might impact officer safety and potentially affect the safety of both themselves and their colleagues, perhaps some of them should rethink their careers. Do you people not understand you will be issued firearms...
