Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I had a home gym before I was hired. After, I have expanded it a lot and its been great. When I am short on time, or between night shifts, I can go out and not waste 30 minutes travel time to the gym. That's exactly why I have it. That and not having to wait for equipment to free up in a gym. Love ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Anyone doing the total opposite of training and letting their body rest up and heal while the gyms as are closed and everyone is staying inside for the most part? Work long shifts (essential service), have a stupid long commute, and for that reason I have a full gym in my garage (rack, bars, weight...

Good afternoon,

Is it normal to have the field investigation commence before having the med/psych appointments scheduled?

TIA
mine has commenced before Med/Psych so I believe it is normal.
I'm pretty sure they were doing mine before the mandatory shut down and I haven't done my poly yet.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

As said above the only benchmark currently is the PARE. You will run a few 5k and 1 8k run thoughout your time at depot. On average I run approximately 15 to 20k a week. I'd suggest you start running before depot also get a few good pairs of compression socks to wear after hours on your runs. Do th...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

PARE is the only hard PT benchmark. That being said, of you dog the runs or don't improve, they'll give you a hard time. I'm a pretty big runner and I improved short distance way more than I thought I could. If you're not tasting blood during/after the run, you have more to give haha As said above ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

If you were given an option to work min/med vs max institution what would the majority of you applicants pick? Just curious if there is a benefit at working at one Vs the other. Any input would be great. If I were to make a recommendation, it would be that every new officer should have to do their ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Are you Psac? PA group? If so article 45 of your agreement is the leave you want to access. In theory they shouldn't deny it but SC can be not as smart with their decision making. Worst case you quit and reapply to SC even as a casual until you find something. I'm under PSAC - tee hee ;) Thanks! I ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

CAF won't do LWOP? Dang! Wondering now if Service Canada will let me do LWOP? Probably not as it's basically the same in principle. Anyone in here from Service Canada that have gotten LWOP? On a side note, for some Cadets there is a possibility of receiving EI while attending Depot. You would basic...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

From conversations I've had with recruiting, CAF mbrs on LWOP potentially qualify for a higher rate of pay on enrollment. Has anyone taken this avenue and if so, did you put your release in while on LWOP? I don't know about CAF, but I assume it is the same. CBSA, CSC etc get their old rate of pay r...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Any OGD POs here who have used up the one time LWOP entitlement? Have access to the 3 month one and a bit of leave, but won't cover off depot + 6 months rft. just wondering what other options anyone might have been offered by management? Depending on your collective agreement, you may have alternat...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

By direct entry, I meant not applying to CX1. I applied directly to CX2/Primary worker position and passed the 3 tests. I did not mean that I skipped the testing stage. Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance (should have been ERCS I guess). I thought you have to fill questions about your friends, ...
