Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I’m sure it varies for every applicant, but what’s the general timeframe look like from application to Depot lately? Seems to be 1.5 to 2 years judging by the timeline in people’s signatures.

Re: CBSA to RCMP

No salary at depot, as there is no secondment agreement. Your time in counts as pensionable service, but not years of service in the force. So you still have to do a full 25 years of service with the force, but when you pull the pin after that you may have “extra” pensionable time. Example: 12 year...

Re: CBSA to RCMP

Hey folks, I’ve heard you can receive your regular salary while at depot. I guess that is untrue? Also, seniority doesn’t transfer towards your retirement date?

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Any idea how seasonal ports work? If you’re posted at a port that is open May-September, for example, where do you go the remainder of the year? You won’t get posted to a seasonal port. They get staffed by assignments out of other ports. Thanks for the info. Can you volunteer for these seasonal por...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Does CBSA hep you out if you get posted somewhere there is absolutely no housing available? And a random one for the gym rats who have been posted to small towns, what did you do for the gains? Import weights to your house?

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Are there any benefits being employed as a BSO as an RCMP applicant? I’ve read in a post from years ago that you will receive your regular salary at depot. As I understand you would have to go through the process same as any new applicants but can you save time by already having a security clearance...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Sorry to hear, Josh. Nothing you can do but continue to work on yourself and your resume and come back as an even better applicant. Has anyone in the East Region had any movement in the process as of late? Thanks for the reply. I am actually in Eastern Ontario. Timeline if helpful: Application: Jan...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

It's been a hoot, but I got the rejection letter today... I'm not sure what else I can work on. I volunteer quite a bit and have done so for years. I feel I have worked in positions where I gained relatable skills and I've been a gym rat for a long time. I don't have post-secondary education and at ...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Just for anyone who is wondering; the file numbers are not being worked as they are received. It depends on the region you apply from. Head office is working the caseload in conjunction with the recruiters overall capacity in the area. I presume NCR has a large amount of applications compared to ot...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Are there any academics/scholars on here that are in the CBSA? I have applied but I was curious as to what kind of experiences that post-graduate students have had during their employment? Did anyone start after they gained employment? Has your grad schooling made you more employable and mobile wit...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Does anybody know the current requirements for inland enforcement? Do they still require education? And do you need to be bilingual?
