Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

To those of you waiting to hear final review, I highly recommend taking 1-2 CPKN courses per week and send them in. Show's that you're continuously learning and improving, plus the content is helpful when you get hired. I think between my BGI and final review (4 month period) I had completed like 25...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hello, I am a current Military Police officer and will be applying out of province. Is there any training I will not have to do? I believe I need to apply as a recruit. I was told MP get credited and don't have to do OPC though. Thank you! Recruiting will be best to speak to about that. Let us know...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if every applicant has a psych interview proceeding their assessment for the MMPI2/ SIGMA? This is of course if they are at the background stage. Also, how did you prepare for the psych portion of the application? Thank you and best of luck to all applicants! Every...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Gongratulations Mack! Quite a moment isn't it? One you'll never forget. Good luck to those still waiting for the call. Regarding the psych/sigma. I didn't hear anything back for the 4 months between the psych/sigma and receiving the call. I did have classmates who had an interview with a psychologis...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

West Region recruitment explained this yesterday. Basically the geographic and financial barrier. As well, they explained how every piece of the ATS testing is covered within the OPP hiring process. I support the decision. Sure they’ll need to do a lot more screening, but hopefully it allows the goo...

Re: Police services and ATS

I'm not 100% certain, but it seems the OACP website states: "Individuals seeking a career as a police officer in the Province of Ontario must successfully meet the requirements of the CSS." Is there a particular reason you're looking for a service that does not require the COR? Hope this h...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

My times for 1.5 mile at time of hire were 10:15ish. I’ve managed to get it down to 9:52 on my last pin test at OPC. Keep working on it though! I also recommend doing some longer runs as you’ll be expected to run 10km at Orillia after OPC. I also suggest doing mock pin tests every week and record th...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hello all, Has anyone ever been successful in the process despite an active consumer proposal? I will spare you all details, other then I am 2 years into my 5 year agreement and have been making great financial changes since I went that direction. Although I feel as if I am at my competitive best o...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I haven't heard any change to the 3-6 month time frame. Be sure to follow OPP on social media to be updated on deadlines to apply for each intake. Good luck!

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Congratulations QJO! I’ll be back in Orillia for post training at the end of July so I’ll see you there when you arrive on pre-OPC training. You’re joining an awesome organization. Let me know if you have questions about pre-opc and OPC. I’m going to Elgin county so we will be neighbours. Congrats a...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hi guys, I was recently invited to the PBQ session. It was stated in the email that there will be no interview during this portion. However, on the opp.ca website under the recruitment process it says the PBQ will completed at this stage with the LFI. Has recruitment slightly changed the process la...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hi - if no one here minds my asking - if I am unable to make it out to an OPP recruitment session, are there any takeaways you guys had that were helpful? Or, would you guys absolutely recommend driving out for one? Cheers Although the online session is still great information, I'd still recommend ...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how we get updates from OPP when contacted. I'm just waiting to find out if/when I get an interview. Do they call? Or will they send an email. I've heard that the deferrals come in letter form so I'm just curious about the rest. You're correct about deferrals com...
