Re: The Blacklist - Does it Exist?

Well I can neither confirm nor deny. But you could always make a privacy act request. You can make a request for disclosure online for a federal agency. I takes like two minutes and I did it just out of curiosity to only find out how boring I am.

Re: Canadian Military Police

I know the MP's do not serve a function similar to Civilian police agencies, so need not drag that age old argument out! I think you might be confusing reserve MP's with regular force MP's. As others have pointed out regular force MP's are 'real' police with the same functions, powers and responsib...

Re: Do police departments trade applications with fire depar

As others have said it doesn't happen. There are some services where you are both a police officer and a firefighter but they are very very few, and I've only seen them in Quebec. The days of the Vigiles are long gone.

Re: Municipal Dept vs RCMP

To you like urban living or do you like rural (sometimes very rural) living?
Do you like shopping at Walmart or do you prefer the Northern?

All personal preference.

Re: CPOIP - Advice Please!

To each their own I guess. Personally, working at a static location such as a jail, hospital or even transit would drive me nuts. I like having the option to grab a patrol vehicle and hit the highway.

If you do decide to go CPO try to get on with a County. Avoid the small town BS.

If you're going to take CPOIP I suggest you sign up right now. The next class is in November are there are only a couple spots left.

I noticed by your signature the hiring process. What is involved with the aptitude, driving and physical tests?

Re: Cops VS Fireman..the reality.

Having worked in integrated fire and EMS service prior to policing here are my thoughts: In most integrated services EMS is seen as a red headed step child. Experienced fire medics with the department normally "graduate" out of working on the ambulance and are replaced with green new recru...
