Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hey Stathakos, thanks for taking the time to answer some well needed inside knowledge, I was under the impression that letting recruits trade their assigned port was a trial run, is that the norm now? I remember reading this was the case for intake 9. Can’t really comment on how it is now, but I wa...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Regarding the assignment of work location of new hires....how much does CBSA try to accommodate the recruit's preferred locations? Do most folks end up being sent to one of the locations they indicated they wanted to work at? Does anyone have experience of being sent somewhere they really did not w...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Just trying to get a realistic idea of where people are getting deployed when it comes to small communities. That's the stream I am in, I have passed everything up until the second psych eval, I am just waiting for that to happen. I saw someone post about their location, a population under 100, 120...

Hey all. Getting close to rigaud, I'm curious if there is any math involved while you're there? I know the aptitude tests of course had it, but do they include it in rigaud? Thank you
Not like in the test nope. But you are gonna be expected to know some very basic math

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Question for fellow BSOs

If I want to get to inland, is air mode really my best bet? Or can I still have a fighting chance from a land port, say one in Southern Ontario?

Thanks!

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hi all! Could someone point me in the direction of a good resource to learn more about the CBSA? I've recently taken an interest in applying and I'm trying to learn as much as I possibly can, but unlike the RCMP or other large police services, I'm finding that information about the CBSA is somewhat...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Is there often overtime available at ports? I believe so, especially in the Prairies... It depends what region you want to go to. Some ports only offer a couple hours of o/t while others will have several hundred hours offered. If you want o/t the small prairie ports are good. I think I had over 40...

Re: Toronto Police Service

Hoping to make the jump from CBSA to TPS. I'm assuming the ATS testing is still a requirement for TPS right? I know OPP has done away with it.

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hi folks, here's a question for those of you who have one through Rigaud lately. Is there anything you wish you'd planned ahead for? Like I'm (theoretically) leaving for the August 13th intake, and am struggling to figure out what I should do before I go. Is there anything I should get in order? My...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Here's a question for some of our experienced folks, or newer hires with lower seniority... I am currently an applicant, but I'm also engaged. Imagine what kinda person would do that while in a process that could have me moving away. Well anyway, I'm there. My question is; Let's say worst case scen...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I have spoken to members on this forum that are recent graduates that say names are pulled out of a box, and then a time slot for when they’ll pick their posting. Its been mentioned a few times on this forum. http://forums.blueline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=18880&start=12360 http://forums.blueline.ca...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

If you have to ask why we go to court then you're seriously not qualified for this job! Who the f*** asks such a retarded question? Yet your comment doesn't reflect the values and ethics of the CBSA and CBSA code of conduct. If this is how you respond to a question and treat other people you should...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Does anyone know if everyone gets travel forms while in the OITP online portion? Also my understanding is that you only need your reliability to go to rigaud and your secret security before you graduate, has this changed? I was apart of the nov 27 online/Jan 15 rigaud class and I only had my reliab...
