Re: *** ASK AN RCMP RECRUITER ***

Thankyou for your time. Have you every hired someone who has had a pardoned over 80mg BA charge? Mine was 12 years ago when I was a 20 year old idiot. I feel I am competitive but this blemish is holding me back from moving on to the interview stage. Would waiting until I can say it was 20 years ago...

Aylmer Commuting

My pregnant wife is emotional with this whole process and I doubt I will even get accepted for the intake but I have a question. If I were to hypothetically be accepted a month before my wife is to give birth with our first child... would I be able to commute everyday instead of living in the accom....

Re: Brantford Police Serivce

I just received a confirmation from Brantford to come in for a written LFI (weird I am confused as to what that entails), and a background questionarre (which is quite extensive with run-ins as a dumb kid almost 20 years ago). Has anyone gone through a written LFI and can give me a quick idea of wha...

Re: Questions about applying/what are my chances?

No worries. It's not so much having a ticket or two. Lots of applicants have a ticket (or three) in their past. It's more important as to what the ticket was for. For example, speeding may be less an issue than, say, dangerous driving or flight from police. Those will get you deferred. Needless to ...

Re: Cadet or Constable?

As a side note, I know some organizations hire cadets based on age. Meaning once you reach a specific age you are ineligible for a cadet position and it is typically around 21 or 22. Just thought i'd throw that out there. I appreciate the reply. I just read on London website that cadet is mainly fo...

Cadet or Constable?

I am a 32 year old male about to finish up ATS this Sunday. I see a few departments like Windsor stating online that most of their Constables are hired through the Cadet program. The reason I am weary is due to the possibility (no matter how slight) that I am not chosen from the program to move up t...

Re: Yay or Nay? Am I a good candidate?

To be blunt, each service, hell each recruiter, will view your life, work and educational experience differently. Some may view your "run ins" in your youth with police as beneficial as, even though police had contact with you, you're still choosing to make it your career path. That you d...

As a guy around your age just starting the process of a career change, this thread really gave me a lot of encouragement. Good luck in your new career.

Re: Yay or Nay? Am I a good candidate?

Then apply and find out. What's the point of asking such questions on the forum? You know yourself the best, who cares what others think. To ease my mind. I was talking to another candidate who has had 1 runin with police and it wasn't anything he did wrong. My question is about my background being...

Re: Yay or Nay? Am I a good candidate?

do you think you're at your competitive best? As in? I believe I have matured well beyond the child I was back then. I am 32 years old and extremely physically fit. I truly believe I would be an asset with my life experience I just hope a recruiter doesn't see my past as a hinderance. Then apply an...

Yay or Nay? Am I a good candidate?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about my candidacy and if I would be an attractive hire, or if I am wasting my time. I am a 32 year old fit male and have been working in an auto plant for the past year due to home ownership and my common law girlfriend working few hours as a part time nurse. I a...
