Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Does any one know if they're still sending rejection/solicitation emails during all of this? They might be! My last communication was March 23 with Pacific regional HQ, not sure if Ottawa is sending rejections or solicitation. I received an email last night asking if I would like to participate in ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Thanks, the BSO student position is a great idea. Everybody I know that is working in the field has told us that the 2 year college program is a waste of time and money, but she has applied for a couple of different programs. Definitely good to have options. And good to know about the benefits of p...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

My daughter is very interested in applying for CBSA, however she won't be 18 until July. Would she still be able to apply if they start taking applications in February since we know the process is at least 18 months? Tell her to apply for student BSO positions while obtaining a post secondary educa...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hello again. Sorry for the bother but I’d like to hear some feedback from some COs on the changes happening within CSC. And if my questions don’t make sense it because I’m writing this after a 14hr graveyard shift. I’ve been interested in the job and researching this career very thoroughly lately, ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

A couple questions for any current or former COs. 1.) Was corrections something you sought out or did you just sort of fall into it? 2.) Was CSC your first choice for a law enforcement orientated career? 3.) How was your first year on the job and what do you think made you successful? 4.) Are you ha...

Re: Ask a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer

Side note, the Union representing Alberta Commercial Vehicle Enforcement made an announcement on social media yesterday that the agency is getting armed. This paves the way for so many agencies. https://www.facebook.com/local003aupe That’s great news for the officers out there doing the job. In my ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Good evening everyone. As a hopeful future applicant for the CBSA, I am glad to have found this thread. Nevertheless, I do have a couple questions and concerns.
