Re: Use of Expired Road Side Screening Devices

Actually it becomes a real dilemma in a detachment such as ours where in our devices are calibrated every Sunday, thus making them "Expired" from 00:00 on the Sunday (Saturday night shift). What do you do? Bring them in the office and not use them every second Saturday? Have 2 Calibration dates? . ...

Re: Thin Ice & Common Sense

agree with colombo in some regards as in that everyone in the ditch also needs to be tapped up with a bill from the gov't, all their stupidity in not slowing down, here ya go, $500 a pop should cover, dispatch, police attendance, we all know fire and ems already bill back to the person if they show up

Re: Air vs nitrogen in tires: what colour are your valve cap

Keeping in mind that 1 hr of idling = 50 km driving equivilant in terms of engine wear, most police agencies drastically under estimate the actual engine 'mileage' on a car. Most fleets change it at 5000km, but if it's had 100 hours of idling during that time, that's equivalent to another 5000km, s...

Re: Tax Time - Job Related Deductions

He claims part of my cell phone bill, not all of it- the reason being that I am constantly on the phone with dispatch during my tours and require it for work, but am not provided one by work. Maybe it has something to do with not claiming the entire bill, but at my previous job a pile of people wer...

Re: TPS stocks up on 300 cruisers

OPP has enough Crown Vic's to last until September-ish. After that we're doing foot patrol. A member around here said you guys are ditching the Tahoe. Sounds like both versions of the new Ford will be seen in black and white. correct, our whole branch was told at association meeting, Tahoe is not e...

Re: Dodge Charger Review

The setup for the MWS in our cruisers is far better than what I had with the MPs. I wish the screen tilted a little bit more, but I can deal with it. Having the option of taking the keyboard out and putting it on my lap to type reports is pretty sweet. wish we went back to the placement of the 1st ...

Re: TPS stocks up on 300 cruisers

Prob not something you'd wanna try in a place as big as Toronto but look to the south where they have "take home" cars issued. Not that any of us would likely want it in our driveway but think of the dough they save the tax payers....plus they hang onto the cars longer because guys n gals take bett...
