Re: Toronto Police Service

Does anyone know in the past TPC/OPC classes what kind of minimum you should set for running? I understand you will likely have to run 5k's quite often during OPC/TPC. Has anyone previously hired had to run more than 10k? If the 10k run still exists at OPC that is. Expect a lot of HIIT workouts. Ru...

Re: Toronto Police Service

Seeing lots of people ask about the PIN. Not mandatory at pre-OPC they will schedule a test session at the college before you start training if there is time depending on when you sign.

Post-OPC before graduating and hitting the road everyone does the PIN test.

Re: Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

There were nearly 120 new wardens at the warden course last year and I only recall there being seven or eight postings on gojobs. LOTS of people apply to the gojobs postings.. 200 people applied for one spot on the Sandbanks posting last April. Make cold calls and inquire about openings. Yea, that'...

Re: Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

I know this post is aging, but I have a questions which I hope someone can answer or help me out with. I have done some digging and found phone numbers of some Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents of Parks which I want to work at in the summer. However, I could only find 4. Does anybody kno...

I've heard that Algonquin is very specific with what they want, and some parts are contracted to outfitters.

Re: Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

I personally found Balsam was very busy, as was Algonquin (highway, not backcountry). To the OP.....be very, very careful of what contractor you work for in Algonquin if you go that route. One is AWESOME, one is....indescribably awful. Ideally, you'd get an actual OMNR position but IIRC the majorit...

Re: Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

If you're looking to get good enforcement experience I wouldn't suggest any of those parks. You're a little early in looking for a spot.. you're better off waiting until late winter to as that's when most parks know they have open positions. The spot I got didn't open up until late April. Good luck...

Re: Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

Depending on what park you get and who your super is, this gig has the potential to be one of the best jobs in law enforcement. Good luck. Yea, I've gotten to speak to a few really awesome Supers this week over the phone. I've gotten the notion that a smaller park may be best for a new Warden to st...

Applying for Ontario Parks - Park Warden position

Hi, I am extremely interested in this position! I have researched extensively and called a bunch of Park Superintendents to get my name out there. I will be looking for seasonal employment with Ontario Parks and am looking for any and all advice you guys can give me. Some of my skills/experience: - ...
