Re: Toronto Police Service

Has anyone else applied to the recent posting and heard something? Hoping TPS will host a PBQ/LFI in January. I applied in Jan and got scheduled for a written LFI/PBQ this week. I applied to TPS mid December and haven't heard anything yet. On a side note I applied to YRP last week and have a PBQ th...

Applied a week before the recruit constable deadline and was contacted saying my application is forwarded for assessment a few days ago. Let the waiting game begin! After you submitted your online application we’re you required to submit additional paperwork (personal history form, COR , etc..) via...

Volunteering is really important. If you have ZERO volunteer experience it could rule you out. Helping the community is important.

Police Application PBQ question

Hello, I was answering some sample PBQ questions and this question came up. "Have you ever been expelled, suspended, documented or formally reprimanded for any reason at an educational or training institution?" I was suspended once for a day in middle school for a minor reason, I was possi...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I've worked before and during school, I'll have about 3 years of customer service experience plus 6 years of tutoring experience. I don't know if work experience would be a problem, I'm just wondering about application timing with respect to school. If you feel like your at your competitive best an...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Hey, as a future applicant I was just wondering about the difference between rural policing and working in the HSD for the OPP. How is HSD and rural policies different from each other? I have a general understanding of what a rural police officer does but not a clue what a HSD officer does, does it ...

Re: New PREP Test (ATS) - Effective October 31, 2015

Going to do the PREP in January. This is my first post I was wondering for the shuttle run if you have to make it to the 20 metre mark or past the warning line at/before the next beep. I cant believe people find it so easy. I make it to level 6.5 and i'm winded. However I'm hoping conditions in the...

Re: Military Applicants

There isn't a preference but I think about around 20% (something like that) of recent recruits from TPS/OPP having previous military experience, so it's fairly prevalent.

with the recent blip in crime and stories in the news highlighting the shortage of actual man/woman power on the street, what do you guys think is the likelyhood of the intake numbers being increased?

There's no money. So I don't think so.
