Re: Ask the CBSA!

I'm hearing that CBSA officers are now being armed at airports? Can anyone confirm that? I've yet to see any armed officers at Pearson, and I'm there quite often. If so it's long overdue. Depends on what you mean by armed. A large percentage of officers are armed and have been for many years, howev...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I was in OITP 5. I'm confused, you say you are OITP5 but then say "Personally I've never been offered time at a larger port neither have the others I work with. Maybe it's different for specific small ports or regions so I can't speak to that. Only referencing my own experience and those aroun...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

What ^^^Tommy said. The OITPs have competences they have to meet in order to move up to full FB3 that can't really be achieved at smaller ports. As an OIDP FB02 at a smaller port I agree with you in principle and that it SHOULD work that way; however not the case with many of my fellow OIDP nor mys...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Also if you get in as a BSO and want to further your career, CBSA, as most employers, probably gives some kind of priority to holders of Degrees or Masters. False I'm not talking absolute priority. You are saying that CBSA's HR doesn't use a pointed chart to evaluate applicants to a supervisor or s...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Having the criminology background won't be of much help for the selection process. I was heading to USA from Montreal and I had a bit of chit chat with the border officers.A guy barley speaking any french got this position just because he had a degree in psychology(mind blown). The second one had b...

Re: RCMP member under probe for being vulgar at home

Get a load of this, off-duty RCMP member under investigation for obscene language used in his own home and for being vulgar Most people don’t bat an eye these days when vulgar or profane language is used, even in a place of work. But when it comes to the RCMP, there’s no tolerance for it. Case in p...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

the unfortunate part guys is that no one except those inside the company know. anything you would get from us would be rumors. what we do know is that 7C is not the last intake this year, more than likely (But please dont quote me on this) is that there is 1 of 3 possible options going to happen (t...

Re: Student Administrative Assistant INTERVIEW

Seems like an office job. Can't really offer much advice as I've never heard of such a postion. But they do fire a bunch of student clerks to do filing, cash, and general office work. Fire or hire? This will not be a CR position. Whoops. Hire. Man serves me right for not reading my posts before hit...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hello officers, anyone know if it's possible to take a few days off from rigaud? Rigaud is designed to jam pack a shit ton of info in a short amount of time. Any time away hinders the recruits and disrupts the schedule and as such you are looking at a good chance no extended absence would be allowe...
