Re: CBSA Boots?

m Originally got them about 2.5 years ago, just yesterday I threw on an identical pair I ordered online a few weeks ago to replace the older ones. Very comfortable and they lasted me the two+ years pretty well. I can't speak to real world waterproofing but they meet the policy. Agreed. I had those ...

Re: CBSA Boots?

Hey guys, new here. What are people using currently for boots that conform to the uniform policy? -waterproof -csa -no side zip Is that correct? And any local lower mainland/Vancouver area places to go that are recommended, thanks for any input. (Most cp/ct wp boots that I have been finding all hav...

Re: Best Boots

My work gives us a $200 boot allowance ever 2 years. If we spend more we submit, and receive the $200 back obviously, or we can simply order boots through work that are $200 or less, and since I HATE spending cash out of my pocket for work that's what I've been doing. I've had two pairs of original...

Re: New RCMP Shirts

FOUR years for boots?! If you're wearing really good boots four years is pretty average. I bought my Han-Wags in 2008, and the Danners I have in rotation now in were bought in 2009. If I was going out of pocket for the full ride on uniform boots I'd still be wearing the first pair of Danners I star...

Re: New RCMP Shirts

Regarding boots, I see The Canteen (yeah, yeah, to the REST of you its The Trading Post - SHUT UP ALREADY!) is carrying a good selection of winter, non-winter and non-winter CSA all-black / waterproof / tactical footwear now. Obviously S/M PATTERSON remembers actually working for a living! Yep, the...

Re: 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants

I normally buy my 5.11s from an online US retailer that sells Police Gear from LA. They have always been great with me and returns have been excellent when I've had to ship something back. If you buy enough 5.11 stuff from them you get free stuff like a hat, mugs, etc. Aren't shipping and customs f...

Re: CBSA Vests

I thought it was supposed to be developed jointly with the RCMP.. same vest for both agencies. LOL! Imagine CBSA giving us the pals/molle carriers like the new RCMP ones. Lucky Luc would shit a brick at how much more scarier we looked. PALS/MOLLE isn't client service oriented guys. I don't know, ou...

Re: Interesting Article On Badges

When did we get the latest badges? Because I know I've never worn mine and had stopped some time prior to that. I believe you're right about the OSH issue. When did vests become mandatory? That would have been the end of the badge too given that only the antique vests have a place for the badge. Fr...

Ziggy Stardust wrote:CBSA did wear badges for a few years after we got vests around 2000. Not sure exactly when we stopped.

I agree with Apollo; put the Durham crest on that badge in place of the flag and it's a winner.

Stopped about 4 years ago maybe? From what I gather it was an OSH issue to do with shrapnel.

Re: Boots - Montreal Region

SWAT and Magnum are bargain basement garbage. They are uncomfortable and last about 6 months. I currently wear bates GX-8 non-side zip safety (paid for the CBSA) and couldn't be happier. I've recommended them to a lot of my colleagues who've purchased them and also love them. They run true to size ...
