Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi there. Congrats to everyone who got a conditional letter. I'm earlier on in my process - just got the invite for my CTP Stage 1. As you know, you get 1 month to do this CTP 1 online course. My questions: How much time should I budget daily? Is it pretty laborious and reading oriented, or is it o...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Melanie1 and noanykey thanks for your input. 10-4 on the hunker down and do it, definitely my intention. Sounds like it's not overwhelming which is what I wanted to hear, I think I'll be okay, sounds like it's something most people with similar lifestyles to my own have completed with a bi...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

So here's a question. Have any BSO joined the CAF reserves AFTER becoming a BSO? Is there any scenario where you'd be allowed the time off to do that? Or if I want to do that should I hurry up and do it ASAP? Wait till you’re done the 12 months of probation then join. As for leave there’s military ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Furtur proche, or close future in English, is using the verb aller when talking about something in the future. Ex je vais aller à Montréal, demain - I'm going to Montreal tomorrow. The other is discours indirect, it is repeating back something said or heard to a third person. You use it during the ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi, Yes I did take the self-assessment tests and I found them accurate predictors for the real tests! You can practice by analyzing random paragraphs, summarizing them and highlighting the important points in your head as fast as possible. My SLE was in English BTW, since I mainly speak French ;) S...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

Just out of sheer curiosity, I noticed during all the hub-bub about booting Raybould-Wilson and Philpott from caucus last night on the news, a lot of the specials were wearing Team Canada hockey hats/ball caps. Or maybe this was at the Ontario legislature, I can't remember which ledge I saw it at. I...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Not sure if this has been asked but if you've been deferred by other police agencies recently would this hurt your chances in getting a security clearance? I believe the security clearance, as was mentioned, is about whether you're a risk to border security. I believe it's similar to a military cle...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi ! Does anyone know or have an idea of when will be the next hiring process ? :D A quick look around at people's signatures shows that people applied in April, August, it seems like they hire year-round. You're probably looking at a few months wait, not super super long. The website says to follo...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Documents for proof of education are explained clearly in the invitation to interview email or you could search through this thread. You only need to bring your highest level diploma. You could bring only your high school diploma but then they have no proof you went to post secondary... As for the ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Has anyone applied Bilingual BBB? I applied BBB just as a challenge - does anyone know what happens if you fail the French part? Can you just continue as an English-only applicant or do you get dropped from the process completely? Hoping I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. You get placed in ...
