Re: RCMP softshell jacket

I wear my vest over my softshell all the time. But I ordered my jacket short so it stops just above my belt, therefor no extra material to get in the way.

Re: Internal or exterior carrier

I prefer my external because I find the internal too hot. I also have some equipment attached to my vest that I'd rather not go without.

Re: Summer Wear?

I wear Under Armour in the summer and Arc'Teryx in the winter. It pulls moisture away from your skin, although it gets absorbed by the uniform shirt. Kevlar doesn't breathe.

Re: RCMP Uniform

Another thing you have to consider is accessing your tools that are still on your belt. If you have radios and cuff pouches and other stuff on there, can you draw your baton? OC? Mags? All of us at my office carry the radios on the vest now. BEST thing ever. Doesn't get in the way if you keep it tu...

Itll help with health. But also decompress.

But sports alone wont keep you in shape. You need a broad range of activity.

Re: RCMP Uniform

Even though it came from an SSM, I'll still wait and see. I was once told by an SSM that cargo pants would never happen. One year later we had cargo pants.

You mean like how the carbine instructors in K Div were all sporting grey Arc'Teryx gear?

I saw we make a petition for him to change the crown so we get new shirts!

Re: RCMP Uniform

There has been speculation if we do go to a dark shirt as to when this will happen in my detachment and the consensus seems to be when the Queen passes away, because they'll have to change the shoulder flashes anyway (assuming the new King changes the crown.)

You can't really go wrong with 5.11 pants.

Re: RCMP Uniform

With the new load carrying SBA carrier, I think we'll start to see a phasing out of the internal. You can't attach carbine magazines to your uniform shirt. I like the idea with the inclement weather pants. I do this also.

Re: Any advice?

I'm going to take a bit of a more harsh tone, here, but it's meant to be constructive: Everything that you mentioned in your first post is your fault. YOU let yourself get out of shape and YOU decided to not go to the gym after joining. Accountability goes a long way (you'll learn that at Depot). As...

Re: RCMP Uniform

I think we'll be more likely to see dark blue shirts come in than the yellow stripe going out. Don't get me wrong, I was proud as hell to earn the right to wear it at Depot, and I love how it looks with the red serge, but it does put you at a tactical disadvantage, especially in areas where there ar...
