Re: Weighted Vest - online
Should be in the fitness forum instead?
Anyway, my MIR weighted vest has lasted me 8 years and it's still in great condition. They have vests up to 200lbs as well.

Re: The Blacklist - Does it Exist?
I've been hearing/seeing some people worrying that they may be on a "blacklist" for policing. Is this a thing? If so.. How do you wind up on it? Can you remove yourself with time? Is it only for one service, or all? Is it a database, or word of mouth? How do you wind up on it? Murder, sex...

Re: Police Application PBQ question
Hello, I was answering some sample PBQ questions and this question came up. " Have you ever been expelled, suspended , documented or formally reprimanded for any reason at an educational or training institution ? " I was suspended once for a day in middle school for a minor reason , I was...

Qualifications are the following

Darn, I have 11 years' experience I guess that eliminates me.
Joking. Good luck to anyone applying and thanks for sharing this.

Re: Conservation Officer Positions-Ontario
Yes, Deputy COs are volunteers like auxiliaries. Yes, the intern position is similar to a cadet position. Yes, if you perform well you may get sent to OPC and get a limited CO appointment. Yes, if you perform well your chances of becoming a permanent CO are pretty high. I was an Enforcement Intern ...

Re: Conservation Officer Positions-Ontario
Interesting posting for Enforcement Interns is up. Can anyone share some more information on this position? I used to think that Deputy Conservation Officers were volunteers similar to Auxiliaries. However this intern position seems to be similar to a Cadet program... but also mentions going to OPC?...

Re: OPP vs Municipal Services (GTA)
Hmm, you say that because of your "geographic location" you're able to apply to some municipal services and OPP? Don't forget that even though OPP often grants one of the applicant's preferred postings it's not guaranteed. It really isn't. Because of the wording of your question I'm going ...

Re: Record Suspensions
You've been a member on these boards for a while now so it's a bit surprising to me that you couldn't foresee the types of replies a thread like this would get... but to answer your question, the minimum requirements to apply for police constable positions often include "No criminal conviction(...

Re: Question about ATS dress code ?
If you're doing the PATI/WCT/PREP stage then just wear your gym clothes. At the BPAD you can wear business casual but don't overdo it... ATS is an external organization to any police service you'll be applying to so you don't really have to impress them besides with your test scores.

Re: Corrections Ontario or OPG NSO position?
They're both starkly different jobs, what do you think you'll enjoy doing more in a long-term career? Although, seeing as you applied for both, are you possibly building experience for a future career in policing? If you aren't planning on making either job your long-term career then stability doesn...

Re: Student law enforcement opportunities

Re: Engineering Degree to RCMP Applicant (or others)
Sorry - I really didn't mean to offend you. I was just giving you brutal honesty as you asked for. I also didn't say to look for a civilian job to insinuate that you shouldn't seek a career in policing. I merely meant exactly what I said - that it takes many people a very long time to get a job offe...
