Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Well I guess I'll throw my hat in the ring. I finally applied last week, and the next day got a confirmation and a file number assigned. I know the process is a waiting game, so for now I'm just continuing to work out and better myself. Hoping to hear back within a few weeks for a next step, althoug...

Stribor45: For weight training, you should get on an actual program with progressive overload. This means that you are making progress every session. I'm not sure if you're familiar with reddit, but here is a link to the fitness subreddit: m It has plenty of information for beginners who want to app...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

I know this is kind of a hard question to answer, but are special constables hired without previous law enforcement / security experience? I have my ATS COR and am applying to Ontario police agencies in January, but I'd also like to apply for some special constable positions. In my opinion I'm prett...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Thanks for the info Toonces! With my post secondary and strong fitness + volunteering, I'm hoping I'm competitive enough. I have been periodically checking out the OPP Hire twitter but I haven't really seen much about exact numbers,

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I'll be applying in January, my last semester of school. Anyone have any outlooks on 2017 hiring trends, past the January class? I'm really hoping the OPP continues its hiring rush!

Re: New PREP Test (ATS) - Effective October 31, 2015

Just passed the PREP yesterday. I have two pieces of advice. First, pacing is extremely important. I did the course in 2:07, and while that seems fast, it was actually too fast. I was really winded after, and I could have saved myself some strength my going slower. Unlike the PARE, the people runnin...

Re: Environmental Enforcement Officer

This position looks really interesting, but unfortunately I don't have investigative experience. I'll be finished a chemical engineering diploma in April but I'm pretty sure that isn't relevant to the experience. The only "inspection" experience I have is walking through barracks making su...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I've worked before and during school, I'll have about 3 years of customer service experience plus 6 years of tutoring experience. I don't know if work experience would be a problem, I'm just wondering about application timing with respect to school.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I'll be submitting my application in the new year. I've read conflicting advice on when post-secondary students should apply, and I'm wondering what the best option is? I can apply when I'm in my last semester, so that if I'm successful hopefully I am accepted not long after graduation. However, I'm...

Yeah it's nice to know I was close, but unfortunately they don't provide feedback so it's hard to know what to improve on. I'll just have do better.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

7/8 competencies met :( It says I have a 2 year wait time. I thought they changed that for this process, but I guess not. I failed the competency which I thought was my strongest, which is unfortunate. Good luck to everyone!

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

So do we just apply again from scratch? I clicked apply on the new posting and it asked for my resume, language, education, etc. Is your application gone too? Yesterday, I was able to retrieve and resubmit it, before realizing that I needed to do that today. Today, when I go to the same page, my ap...
