Re: Ontario Correctional Services

This information was quite helpful. Thanks callofduty288. I just wanted to know before I decided to go for it. From what I have been hearing from other officers that I know is that the hours are there, but permanent takes time but there is always work. So to me that's a good thing. Can't wait to get...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

Hello, Just a quick question for all new and experienced correctional officers. I am going to be applying for the next posting set by the province. It states on call for hours. From your experience, how many hours a week are you working? Are you still getting 40 hours a week even though it says you...

Re: Toronto Police Service

This is probably a ridiculous question but I am going to ask it anyway. Would anyone on here know if Toronto will be hiring court officers again? If so, would they go back to their talent pool before the freeze happened? Or would they just go back out for new applicants?

Re: Toronto Police Service

The problem with that is that people that do the hiring like background resource officers as well as those that conduct the interviews you have to take that course through the Ontario police college and you have to be certified for the province in order to conduct said hiring practises Has it ever ...

Re: Toronto Police Service

Riddle me this for potential recruits, and this is where there lies an issue. There is no one in employment. No one to do back ground checks. And there is no one to conduct interviews. All these people were redeployed last year mostly, to divisions or investigative spots. I've heard what I hope is ...

Re: Toronto Police Service

Well there has to be some resource management in play in order to deal with the recruitment aspect. As well as other external agencies that require Toronto Police to do background investigations for them as well. There needs to be someone or some people present in order for operations to continue, e...

Re: Toronto Police Service

Goodluck to everyone applying. Really wanted to apply but I won't be getting my OACP till November... Im guessing this is 80 for one intake, good solid number if it is. In the same boat, have to renew after a short-ish hiatus. But if this current intake is 80, and the requirement for more personnel...

Re: If deferred from one force, are you now ineligible from

I believe you can be hired by another service. They will ask why you were deferred but it will essentially be up to the recruiter to allow entry but nonetheless I think it is possible.
