Re: AR15 petition

I'd like to see a petition regarding the allowance of pistols to be discharged at places other than approved ranges. What a silly system that you can go out and discharge high powered and semi-automatic rifles on private property but a 9mm pistol can only be discharged at an approved range. I have ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

CTP 1 is your application. That's the background check, medical exam, psych test, etc etc CTP 2 is the assignments and readings. This is where the work starts. Once you reach CTP 2, you need to: A) Read ALL of the material B) Do ALL of the assignments C) Re-read everything so that you can't just ans...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi Matt, Do you happen to know the scheduled training dates at either/both facilities for 2020? I've completed all steps and am hopefully awaiting an offer soon.. just a waiting game now! Would you be able to offer a general look at what daily training may look like while there? Apologies if someon...

Hello all Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Matt Chinn. I am a CX3 Staff Trainer for CSC, currently training recruits at the National Satellite Training Academy in Summerside, PEI. Sorry, but we already have an over-abundance of partially qualified staff.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hello, I am at the end of the process to become a Correctional Officer, I am waiting for the instructions to start Stage 2 and Stage 3 in Regina. I'm in Montreal, and I want to work in Quebec. I gave my choices, I chose only Quebec (port-cartier too). I saw here on the forum that the next team (Fra...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Not that it's a huge deal but just wondering if it's true that you'll be showering in groups and no private showers? Depends which building the recruits are assigned to. In the newer, permanent, modern buildings the "pits" have 1/2 walls and less space. The showers are YMCA style, communa...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Actually, I bet they would be saving a tone. With all the recruits coming from Ontario, they would be saving alone of the cost of the flights. Hardly offset the 8.3 million dollars they spent to implement the facility in Regina, nor will the flight costs of 180 recruits a year even touch the cost o...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I have an interview for Pacific Region CX-1 coming up. I have heard conflicting things with regard to hiring in this region. First being that they are short staffed but due to funding cut backs are not hiring. Second being that they are short staffed, and are hiring for Kent specifically. I went th...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Let's be very clear, as the Recruiters still don't seem to stress this enough: You will NOT be able to transfer "back home" in 2 years. You may APPLY in 2 years. You will likely work in the Prairie Region for over 5 years, maybe 10 years, MAYBE MORE before you can get a transfer. If you're...
