Hopefully CSC will follow suit with RCMP depot training.

:sniper: :pistols:
Yeah, because CSC has a long history of doing the same thing that the RCMP does.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I don't know where people on here are getting their scheduling information, but you must have better sources than I do (the office where they're working on this is 40 feet from where I'm currently sitting). We are still trying to get recruits trained and graduated who were interrupted 3 weeks or les...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Just a brief update on the CTP training situation currently: Later this week the plan is to begin training at several institutions in Prairies and Pacific regions. The recruits who were on CTP07 and CTP08 (both PEI) who are not relocating and live close to the institutions they received a conditiona...

Re: AR15 petition

That's what I thought, as I can find nothing in legislation saying you must be a member somewhere. Now for part two of my question.... Where in law does it stipulate that you may only discharge a restricted firearm at a range? I contacted both the CFO and RCMP, and the laws they directed me to addre...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Mr. Chinn, In our core, we started doing light BJJ as self defense. One of the instructors who you probably immediately know who I am talking about started doing the basics with us. He is an EXCELLENT instructor. is CSC going to start incorporating jiu jitsu / judo into it's self defense program? [/...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

If you were given an option to work min/med vs max institution what would the majority of you applicants pick? Just curious if there is a benefit at working at one Vs the other. Any input would be great. If I were to make a recommendation, it would be that every new officer should have to do their ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Has anyone here wondered if they would postpone CTP3 training because of the virus outbreak? If so what would that look like? Interesting question. The class size is what, 32? So I guess it doesn’t fall within the current large gatherings advice. And things have to keep running, like prisons. That’...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

hello guys, I'm currently going through the recruitment process for CSC. Doing both medical and psych next week, and currently doing the online training. Quick question, I do wear glasses, provided I make it through everything listed above, what is it like to go through the training with glasses? C...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

A lot of people who have received an offer to attend CTP Stage 3 have contacted me lately, asking for advice. As it's always the same answer, I'll post my advice here for everyone. If you have received your Stage 2 materials, and are getting ready for Stage 3, this is what I urgently recommend that ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Got an offer for Drumheller, training to start in PEI April 21. Tough decision because that’s a 1 1/2hr commute for me and I also have an offer from the provincial govt. But then again the provincial govt in AB is surely heading for big cuts so it might not be a secure job. For reference, my last c...

Re: AR15 petition

I'd like to see a petition regarding the allowance of pistols to be discharged at places other than approved ranges. What a silly system that you can go out and discharge high powered and semi-automatic rifles on private property but a 9mm pistol can only be discharged at an approved range. I have ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Does anybody know if there are any breaks for time between ctp3 in Kingston? Like if the class graduates is there a few weeks break in between ctp3 or are the running them consecutively. Thanks for the input in advance. CTPs in Kingston and PEI are running continually, with very little time between...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

CTP 1 is your application. That's the background check, medical exam, psych test, etc etc CTP 2 is the assignments and readings. This is where the work starts. Once you reach CTP 2, you need to: A) Read ALL of the material B) Do ALL of the assignments C) Re-read everything so that you can't just ans...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi Matt, Do you happen to know the scheduled training dates at either/both facilities for 2020? I've completed all steps and am hopefully awaiting an offer soon.. just a waiting game now! Would you be able to offer a general look at what daily training may look like while there? Apologies if someon...
