Two Crashes Involving London Motorcycle Police

Two crashes involving London motorcycle police happened about one hour apart Thursday. Both crashes sent officers to hospital. The first happened around noon at Sarnia and Wonderland roads. A paid-duty officer was escorting a truck carrying a portable building, when he was rear-ended by a northboun...

Re: OPP Used Excessive Force During Highway Takedown

Great to see that the comments written by the public (under the City News article) were supportive of the police actions.
The public becomes persuaded by the media too easily, great to see they were able to look through the BS in this complaint.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Today I heard the same news that's been floating around Blueline for the past few months (will probably sound like a broken record)... within this week and next, offers will start to go out. Unfortunately, the class size is around 35 because of the limited number of seats at OPC this intake Best of ...

Criminal Minds season finale

Did anyone catch the 2-part season finale which wrapped up last night? It had a Canadian influence... The plot stemmed from the events which happened on the Pickton farm in BC. Part 2's episode was based on a pig farmer in Sarnia, Ontario... pretty crazy to hear that on the television. It was funny ...

Re: Uniformed Casino Security Guard -- Equipment?

Q-Tip: I take it that you work in the casino industry too?

Maybe the site your at is busier with more medicals... just speaking on my experiences where I'm at... no need to preach to someone who's already working within the casino and knows how it operates...

Re: Uniformed Casino Security Guard -- Equipment?

Goalie29: all security officers within the OLG are trained in CPR/First Aid, but the individuals that have the "EMR (Emergency Medical Responder)" title deal with most... if not all the "medical" situations that occur on the site I work at.. it's a larger site, so more security o...

Re: Uniformed Casino Security Guard -- Equipment?

I work security at an Ontario casino... I was given a flashlight and first aid pouch... but I don't wear either (there are hired people there to deal with medicals)... I carry a radio... The sups at my site don't carry cuffs... they are in the office if need be (and since I've been there, there has ...

Re: Lack of well paying security jobs

Security jobs... good paying... try and get into a Casino/SLOTS. It's government so they pay well.... but the job itself is pretty mind-numbing IMO. Starting rate for p/t is $15.36, 6 months later its 17.28/hr... 6 months after that its $20 something/hr. Benefits aren't too bad either. IMO aim for s...

From CTV... Their story differed just a bit....

"The sentences on various counts add up to at least 33 years, but Simpson, 61, could be eligible for parole in nine years"

Re: Lost - Confused - What are my choices ???

Certain OPP Detachments have a summer marine student program, you apply through the "Summer Experience Program" by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services ( http://www.summer.mbs.gov.on.ca/english/exp_app.html ). The 2008 positions have yet to open. There are many other positions ...
