Re: Your opinion - By-law/MLEO Uniforms, PPE and Vehicles
There are By-Law Enforcement departments that do ACO work who are issued vests. I'm not sure about any strictly animal control departments who are issued vests, not in Canada at least, in the US some ACOs are very well equipped as far as vests, radios and UoF tools go. There are a number of Bylaw a...

Re: PSP being sold
Now another company ("MKU Limited") is trying to outbid Safariland by 20%. With note to the quality, PSP meets the NIJ standards but that's it. If you're wearing Level II PSP armour, it's rated to stop 9mm and .40 cal but that's it. Many other armour companies will rate their armour well i...

Re: PSP being sold
Aaaand, here we go again... Canada's only body armour manufacturer has been acquired by the Safariland Group. Safariland typically consolidates its armour brands in manufacturing facilities in Florida, so it'll be interesting to see what happens to PSP. http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/med-e...

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
Ours don't have the beep and I for sure have driven with my rear lights activated for a bit. We repeatedly talk to other officers to tell them that their lights are on. The reminder chirp is normally an option on all higher-end sirens. Many are enabled by default but are deactivated via programming.

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
... It reminds me years ago of one of our fellow road racers who painted letters on the back bumper of his sports car upside down, that read, "If you can read this, please roll me back on my wheels." http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/1181/file-13030983-png/images/ifyoucanreadthis.png

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
The chevron striping on the back is mandatory under NFPA standards for fire trucks over 8' high. I actually had a very small part in that aspect of the standard (not that anyone really cares). It's amazing how many police cars and other vehicles we see where they have the chevron upside down. (&quo...

The airport got new rigs in the last year: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQEYdwSzFxYQJDjC31rqNIihD29EmgceLXN7Lo-2j0wRkiiKHqE Pretty much absolutely frigging impossible to miss considering it lights up like a spaceship as soon as a little bit of light reflects off of it. Re: New look for the Toronto PS
On a similar note: Many fire services have changed their trucks to a bright yellow colour, as it stands out better in night-time traffic vs the classic fire truck red. Hydrants too are slowly being change from red to yellow, sometimes with a high visibility blue reflector. They flip-flop with the &...

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
So apparently the MOST COMMON vehicle colour (grey/silver) in North America is "paramilitary, intimidating, and unfriendly". Interesting to see that paint colour on an inanimate object projects human emotions in some people. The white cars may be easier to spot, which gives some law abidi...

Re: Wild Hogs in BC?
Response from the project manager at BCInvasives.ca.... Feral pigs are certainly not wanted in BC. Currently numbers are very low but we know that they exist as they have been reportings submitted and photos taken. Areas east of Williams Lake and in the north Thompson can't confirm locations of pigs...

Vancouver company. Ships in about 2-3 weeks. We use their vinyl covers for some public safety vehicles who don't want/need a hard plastic seat but want some form of protection so their seats don't get dirty.
