Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Dropping in from Depot here.

Run.

For the love of all that is holy, run like the damn wind. Run long distance, run short distance, just for god's sake...RUN!

If you come to Depot hoping to become a runner while here you will be setting yourself up for a difficult time.

Congrats! I graduate Depot on August 21st. Enjoy the time here. It flies by.

Anything you wish you had brought with you to Depot? I'm in the midst of packing right now and leave on Sunday morning.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Well ladies and gents, it was a long ride but I'm happy to say I got the call this morning and will be joining Troop 14, starting August 7th. I'd like to thank this forum for all the help and support I've received that pushed me towards my goal. Maybe I'll see some of you stand-up citizens in Sask :D

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

Anyone else in Final Suitability Review right now? It looks like everything else is more or less complete aside from Security Clearance so I'm just waiting on that now. Hopefully this part of the process is comparatively quick.

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

It looks like at this point Depot is bringing in a troop pretty much every week. Who knows, maybe because we're close enough to the end of the process they might fast-track our files to fill these slots? According to RCMPRegina in the public Ask a Recruiter thread the upcoming dates are: Troop 14: A...

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

I'm so glad the medical is moving as fast as it is. I was under the impression it would takes months and months at this stage judging by the Ontario applicants, but it might actually end up being the quickest part. Three cheers for BC's OH&S Don't get your hopes up. I've been stuck in medical s...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hello everyone, I'm not sure I'll get a definitive answer but I was was wondering, does everyone that goes to Depot get a conditional offer before their Security Clearance is issued? Or is it possible to only receive a firm offer once your clearance is issued? I've combed through a few dozen pages ...

Congrats Bacon! Was July the first troop available to fill or did you just request that much notice?

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for lower mainland. I've always been a city guy and I love the large scale and fast pace of it. Going rural wouldn't be a dealbreaker though; if the RCMP tells me to go to a small town I'll figure out a way to make it work. We all signed that document. I'll honor ...

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

Vancouver here. I've been wanting to become a police officer for a very long time and finally put the wheels in motion last Spring. Hopefully it's getting close, I'm at the same stage as a couple of you right now (med/psych). Once that is done we only have BGI and FS left It's been a long year but i...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Kinda scary that someone can make it all the way to FS and get deferred for something that was disclosed at the beginning of application. In any case, best of luck and I hope you don't lose your determination to become an officer. Here's to a better 2018 for ya!

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

The way I see it, the less time you have to worry about getting in shape at Depot, the more time you have to focus on other aspects of your training. Studying, practising things, etc. Start running and lifting NOW so you're not on your bed dying from a run while the rest of your troopmates are doin...
