First things that should go, running shoes and non uniform coats and sweaters, and proper change rooms near a secure entrance in order to change into your uniforms, ie. No leaving your home in uniform, the police don't do it, so why do we?

Don't think that's a good thing! They probably took the "2012" part out so if they decided for the freeze to stay on people can't really complain. A friend of mine is a CO and he said that the talk is now no recruitment until 2014!!! But he said believe it when ya see, it could just be a ...

I volunteer with OVERT search and rescue, they just had a Fall recruiting drive, check out their website www.overt.ca

The team assists in community events, as well as assists emergency services in disaster and missing persons situations, they also have an international arm called CANISAR

I am in provincial corrections, great job, great pay, plenty of good staff to work with. Downsides include several years as a "subhuman" aka. casual employee, no set hours (although we are getting out 40) and no benefits are quite unacceptable, in order to consider this a respectable caree...

The physical abilities test is done your first day at the Correctional College in Hamilton. You must do a flexibility test, strength test, lifting test, and shuttle run. I am a Corrections Officer and while MCSCS is still actively recruiting, be careful what you wish for. I have been Unclassified for 4-1/2yrs and am still a bit down the line for a full time job.
