Re: Toronto Police Service
Hello Everyone, Just wondering if anyone knows if TPS will hire in 2019? Was told to re-apply in Dec. 2018 after being told that I won't be moving on from phase 1 in Dec. 2017. Really want to try again, but don't know if they will hire again or go on a hiring freeze again. The hiring is uncertain i...

Re: Durham Regional Police Service
For anyone who has applied recently and was successful through the process, what was your educational background? I am a current university student, I am wondering if this could possible impede my chances as I can imagine that I may be competing against university graduates. You're always competing...

If the cadet program is contract (similar to the old OPP cadet program) you can test the waters and develop potential future constables. You don't get stuck with a 30 year problem. I think its a great idea..I just wish it was around when I was in my early 20's!

Re: Toronto Police Service
September 17th is the next date I can think of something coming out officially concerning the budget and the personnel based variance that the service is facing. I've been encouraged by a couple of friends in the profession, however, to look into other services at this time. Are your friends member...

Re: Typical Shift Length in Ontario
Some departments you can get very tired after putting in a long 12 hour shift and going from one disturbance call , to fight call , to large fight , gun fire to mentally disturbed person ,to MVC to other family domestic call so on. I think departments like 12 hr shifts because you can do with less ...

Re: Is The Talent Pool More Shallow Than It Was?
Some people (both parents and kids) just can't seem to cut the cord. Sad really We have first class constables still living with their parents. And they aren't embarassed about it. That's pathetic. If they're at their folks to save for a home, then I think its smart. With houses being at the prices...

Re: Cycling
Im an avid rider. In the past year Ive become hooked to trail riding again. But after trying Downhill riding last week, no flat trail will ever compare to that rush! Now if I could only afford a downhill bike... *cough* Trek Session 88 or 9.9 *cough*.. And what a workout for the arms. I could hardly...
