Re: Do LEOs value Security personel?

It depends on where you work. Security because of their notoriously low hiring standards and wages, tend to have staff that are useless frigheads. Occasionally you get a couple of awesome ones that are truly trying to move on to Enforcement. Hospital security tends to get the most respect because of...

Re: Pot-Smoking Mountie

Smoking marijuana in a police uniform is a disgrace. The guy may have issues but he should damn well know better. QFTFT. "Qutoed for the fucking truth" I don't care what your problems are, you disgrace the uniform with illegal actions/substances... You don't deserve the uniform. Keep it h...

Re: Ask a Sheriff

Are they still doing the circle of strength? Is Chisholm to doing the fitness portion. If i recall he played some pro hockey but his 5am PT made 90 % of us puke! I did my sheriff training in 2006 but heard that they had to tone some things down after our intake. Regardless i loved every part of the...

Re: Beards?

RCMP doesn't allow facial hair except for mustaches. It's bullshit really. You're telling me that my having a well kept stubble makes me look unprofessional, but a 300 lb cop CRAMMED into a vest is acceptable? It's the RCMP, not the military. You're not forced to shave once per 24hrs or even less t...

Re: CBSA / RCMP / BRINKS / G4S / GARDA Standard Issue Sidear

This information is easily located on Google or Wikipedia. RCMP: S&W 5946 VPD: SIG P226 Brinks: S&W M&P45 CBSA: Beretta PX4 Storm (garbage) Churchill: bad company, don't bother. Garda purchased G4S Cash so it will be a combination between the Glock 22, M&P9, and the S&W 686. Howe...

Re: military parachute wings and RCMP uniform

CO's are generally outnumbered, and ill-equipped (for safety purposes, funny how that works). Who do you actually work for? I'm curious to what your definition of ill-equipped is. As far as I know all Correctional agencies have very similar polices - no extra pins/badges/anything that can be remove...

Re: Security in preparation for RCMP?

The best experience you can get that is the closest to being a police officer without actually being one is working as Hospital Security/Healthcare Protection Services. Did it for many years, loved it, and so did my future employers.

Re: military parachute wings and RCMP uniform

Considering that as a CSC Correctional Officer, in the event you get into a tussle and your wings get torn off your carrier/shirt... You can say hello to Stabby McStabberson. How is this different for vitually ever other service which authorizes wear on the vest carrier itself and not just the shir...

Re: military parachute wings and RCMP uniform

As far as the CSC goes this is what I have seen we have a former Airborne member on our squad, if he is working remembrance day, he wears his ribbons and his wings on his duty uniform that day. As for all the time, he does not like to advertise, so he usually does not wear any ribbons the rest of t...

Re: Questions from the spouses view RCMP

Perhaps he meant: in the same area. There are quite a few members I know, that have 25/30 years in the service, who spent the whole time in LMD alone. However, just to comment on PrairieStorm's post... Here, it's almost impossible to get a transfer before 5 year mark. If you are in Surrey, the mark...
