Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
Napanee is quite busy and there is vacancies there. Frontenac isn't as busy, but I think they have vacancies too. Odessa almost always has a waiting list, but I'm not sure about current vacancies. Odessa is attached to Napanee (Napanee being host detachment to Odessa and Kaladar). If you go as far ...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
I have a question for everyone. I'm in the process of selecting my preferred detachments. I'm wondering if anyone has any resources other than the action plans on the OPP website? For instance, I want to figure out which detachments are the largest/busiest, in terms of constables on the roads, char...

Re: OPP Auxiliary
If your first instinct is to LIE on an application, this career isn't for you.
I am shaking my head at people encouraging you. Clearly they're not on the job, or they wouldn't be giving you any sort of advice other than to change your career goals.

Re: OPP Auxiliary
Hey, I'm new to the forums and I stumbled upon this thread because I too want to apply to the OPP Auxiliary. I have a few questions though. 1. I have been asked to resign from my previous workplace, I did something I'm not proud of and I have changed since then. Because of that I have not put that ...

Re: Why did you choose the service you chose?
My service was my second choice - I was not successful with my first choice - but wow did things ever work out for me. I dont think I'd be as happy with my first choice. Living the dream still, 11 years in. Great training, great equipment, great work-life balance, tremendous support through injuries...

Re: Soreness after run
I used a squash ball between shoulder blades - it's small enough to squeeze underneath. Helped immensely when I was several months post-surgery (rotator cuff) when the knots were hellish.

Re: Improve my resume
Or....
Assess yourself. If you lack insight into your own abilities and shortcomings, are you really ready to apply? Would a police service want to recruit someone who doesn't know themselves or how they might improve on their own?

Re: Mobility as a Police Officer
If you're not interested in committing yourself to wherever you're posted, I don't really think policing is for you.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread
A variety of backgrounds is most welcome and useful. Myself and many of my colleagues are in our second career.
I'm sure this doesn't go for the OPP but for all services.
