Re: London police cadets

Well, ask yourself this question. Would you hire someone who has a very good education ( university graduate),has worked in a professional field for sometime and not a lot of volunteer experience or someone who has a high school diploma but with a lot of volunteer experience. In other words, do you ...

Re: Guelph Police and Waterloo Police

Don't forget its not just education. I just finished up my DCI/LFI about a week ago, and I have nothing more than high school and a few online certificate courses and workshops for my work. I'm 28, and have a fair bit of life experience. I'd second the idea that a tri-city area may be more competit...

Re: Guelph Police and Waterloo Police

I applied to WRPS, had lived there for a few years, nice city. Only outfit to not offer me an interview. I was proceeding with 4 outfits, out of 5 i applied to. I got the standard "we will keep you on file". Their loss, i got offers and was hired; i can only assume with 70%+ of their popu...

Re: Hello everybody from a new member, I am starting my Jour

I didn't expect people are so rude here. From what you said, you assume people who can speak more than just English can't do shit and others have to pick up their slack. Wow, this is the best generalization I have ever seen from a people with age and maturity. I agree with you that speaking more la...

Re: Hello everybody from a new member, I am starting my Jour

Easy there fella. The only thing that was said is that being an ethnic minority shouldn't be an advantage. If you and I both speak French and English, then you shouldn't get the bonus points because you come from a different ethnicity than the white guy on the block. If you think you should get the...

Re: Hello everybody from a new member, I am starting my Jour

I apologize SIR but that was so rude of you which clearly shows your attitude. Above poster just gave his/her opinion, knowing more then one language is always consider as an advantage " Did I say preference? ". If you go OPP website... It's not rude of me at all and if you think I have a...

Re: Hello everybody from a new member, I am starting my Jour

I am in the same boat except I have been here much longer and younger. I did get the impression that if you an speak more than just "English" and you are an ethnic minority, you will have some "advantage" during the hiring process provided that you pass all the tests. As for the ...

Re: Peel Regional Police

I would do some serious research into the basics of applying before you go emailing a recruiter. Your OCAP is a certificate you receive upon completing all if which you have mentioned (PATI, WCT, PREP, BPAD, Vision/Hearing). Outside of PEEL (in house testing), you must take pass ALL of the testing ...

Re: Peel Regional Police

The tests you can do at ATS range from PREP only and a whole package of tests including PATI/GATB, WCT and PREP. So, I did some research and places like Waterloo, Guelph, Halton etc.. they don't say which one they need, they just want OACP certificate... I emailed the Waterloo recruiter for more inf...

Re: Peel Regional Police

HI guys, I have decided to apply for Peel(1st choice, from Peel), Waterloo, York and Guelph, just to keep my options open. I read a lot of threads on here and got many useful info. I still have a few questions. 1. Places like Waterloo and Guelph, they require the OACP certificate, is that the PREP t...
