Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Curious if anyone could help me out. Have my BDI tomorrow and starting to panic as I just read the wording of the timeframe we can use for examples in the competencies it says use examples from your past (3-5 years) so does that mean they have to fall between 3-5 years or anywhere from yesterday up...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I sent in my application in Sept 2018, and right now am on Stage 8. Hopefully I can get into the April class and if not then August it is. Did it really take that long for you to reach Stage 8? I thought they expedited the process for you out of towners. Well the only part that they expedite for ou...

I have a few questions, Could you guys answer them if you know. 1) How long does it take to get the final decision after going through all the stages ? Could be a week, it could be a month or longer depending on when the next selection committee is scheduled. 2) Have you heard of someone to go thro...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Hey, just curious if anyone ever got a call back from the psychologist wanting a follow up interview. I did the out of town 1 week shot process and I just got a call wanting to do a follow up phone interview with the psych doctor. Just curious if anyone has had that happen, if it's normal or not. I...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

It looks like some of you will be getting a call soon. I'm positive I saw a new nervous pre-hire being shown around the station yesterday. However I couldn't confirm it, I was not called constable 20 times as I walked past the front counter haha.

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

kkcoedmonton Absolutely wear a full suit. This is your first impression on the file managers and you don't want that memory to be the clown wearing flip flops and a t-shirt. I had that guy in my group when I wrote the tests many moons ago. Make sure you eat a balanced breakfast and pack some water a...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I used the Policeprep exams as well and found them to be very helpful. Some of their practice exams were more difficult than the ACT and APCAT.

However, I didn't use the books, I signed up on their website.

So here's to getting to know all of you! :)
Not to be a Debby Downer, but it's easier said than done. EPS is very competitive so bring your A game when you apply, and make sure you are in pique physical condition too. :drinking:

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I like to still go out to the run with the recruiters on occasion, it's fun to see the guys just starting and shaking in their boots the exact same way I was last summer haha.

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Just recently applied(around the first week of April). File manager has sent my application ahead...was wondering how long it usually takes to hear back and how can I continue to improve to become a desirable candidate. Not saying that I'm not just how can I keep improving? I work, volunteer, as we...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Going through the application I see they are looking for phone numbers for everyone I have lived with over the last 10 years, what if I don't have any contact with some of these people anymore? What a perfect way to show your investigative skills ;) I had the same problem initially but if you do en...
