Calling cards will work, as long as you have a local access number (Normally 1-800 # to call 1st).

Awesome! Thanks guy.

Hi, quick question. One of the letters about Rigaud says that we can't influence the long distance call rates. Has anyone used a calling card instead with any luck?
Thanks!

Re: Ask the CBSA!

What do you mean when you say accommodations? In a sentence; It the long-term to permanent modification of job duties or work location for those officers that are unable (and some would say unwilling) to complete required aspects of training (generally related to use of force). Danke schone, Herr C...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Don't act surprised when the PARE is implemented at CBSA. The entire recruitment process is slowly being engineered to mirror the RCMP method (i.e. the integrity questionnaire is essentially a pre-polygraph questionnaire). The federal government cannot discriminate against someone based on their ag...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

My last night shift was far more thrilling than anything shown at a POE on that show. The inland stuff is fun to watch, though. Remember, nobody that is doing anything remotely illegal is going to sign a waiver agreeing to be on tv. I found the show to feel staged. What I mean, I think the BSO may ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting here. I have been invited to a phone interview for the position of Program Officer in the CBSA and as this will be my first interview with them after completing all the exams, I was just wondering if anyone had any general tips for me. Any help would be mu...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

There are specific boot requirements and you are only entitled to boots that are on a designated list. Contrary to the information two posts up, protective toes and shanks are required and side zippers are not permitted. I would definitely not suggest buying your own Rambo assault boots and showing...

I haven't heard yet. I find it odd that the assignment asks what POE you've been assigned to.

They're effective on the date of your letter of offer. I think that would happen once training is done and you're sent to a post somewhere, since Rigaud is still sort of part of the application process.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

A guy I graduated Rigaud with was from Scarborough and he got posted to Northern BC. Hope for the best, plan for the last place you'd think you'd get sent to. And don't sign up unless you actually are willing to serve anywhere. Transfers are possible but take time, some longer than others depending...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hey everyone, new member long time creeper on the site. I just received my invite to begin the online training before the in-class training in February. Two questions: 1. what exactly is the online training? Just a way for me to develop knowledge of CBSA mandates? 2. I am currently a federal gov em...
