Re: Appealing a Deferral

Jukka? The thing about this "one" person and you moving to another job, breaking contact etc. Did you change all this stuff prior your application to the service or after? And....? , how long is your deferral? I had my application in, was going through the process, was in between stages o...

Re: Appealing a Deferral

Exactly why you shouldn't be told why you're deferred. If they don't want to hire you, they don't have to. Crying your way into the job isn't a trait of a person I would want to work with. The most annoying thing on this forum is the bitching and moaning about how everybody has been wronged and it'...

Re: Appealing a Deferral

Why would you even apply if you feel that you'll be getting deferred? Way to go-waste everyone's time and money. This incident happened while I was going through the stages. And once again, there is way more to this situation than what I'm prepared to talk about here, so without knowing all the fac...

Re: Appealing a Deferral

You're planning an appeal based on a deferral that you haven't yet received? You're basing that an the actions of an outside individual? How about grow up,and accept responsibility for your actions and who you're hanging around with? There's no way one person alone can cause your deferral. I will a...

Re: Appealing a Deferral

Going back to the OP, how do you start a deferral appeal? And who did you deliver the letter to? Recruitment officer or Recruitment Sergeant? And how did you deliver it? By hand or mail? I haven't heard anything anything from my RO for a few weeks since finishing my physical, and have this looming f...

Re: Leaving NB to apply for Police services out west, need i

Cps and Edmonton are hiring for sure this year. I think cps was saying they are hiring minimum of 75 people this year, and not sure of eps. As for Victoria or Vancouver, they are hiring but in lower numbers. My question to you is why are you going to move cross country to apply to a service? I only ...

Re: Calgary Police Service

So I got word back from CPS about a week and a half ago that my file has been brought to a file manager and they were reviewing it. I messed up a couple dates (overlapped) in my background section, but other than that every thing looks good. I also heard back from my file manager this morning sayin...

Re: Accomidations for officers with disabilities

For a bit of an update, I have confirmation from the service I applied to (CPS), that they have my application, they want proof of my claims (ie copy of my phsyc-ed evaluation), and are able/going to make accomidations for me when doing my testing (within reason, ie extra time if needed). My file ma...

Re: Calgary Police Service

I've been mulling with the idea of applying to CPS (out of town, BC) for a while now. I figured they would try and schedule a lot of the steps into one trip, and after doing a search I was right I suppose. For those of you out of town applicants, how much notice did you receive roughly after submit...

Re: For an interview, style suit would you recommend?

I did post links to pictures of suits (they wouldn't attache due to the size of the pictures). There was some actual discussion, some on the thread and some via PM about the topic, but it quickly just spiraled downhill. From the REAL responses, I have got some good feedback so far. I've even got res...

Re: For an interview, style suit would you recommend?

I'm not worrying too much about it, I'm just curious. I need to buy another suit anyways, so I figured I would ask. First impressions are a lasting thing, and if its for a job, I want to make sure I make the right one. Plus my interview date isn't for another almost 2 months, so I have some time to ...

For an interview, style suit would you recommend?

I'm curious about what style of suit people would recommend for interviews with a police service? The reason I ask is that right now I only have 1 good suit (black, traditional cut), and I am looking for a new one. Most of the suits I have been looking at are a slim cut style and look very modern. I...
